Just think about that...48 seasons and just 7 measly home playoff games -- 7! 1 Conference Championship, 2 Divisional (semifinal) Games, and 4 Wild Cards (quarterfinals). -------------------------- The first 24 years at Shea saw only 4 playoff seasons, and just one home postseason win, albeit the AFL Championship over the Raiders. ---------------------------- The second 24 years at the Meadowlands, the Jets have done "twice as good" with 8 playoff seasons, but only 3 home playoff wins, including the awesome divisional win over JAX and the 41-0 shut out of Peyton "The Senior" Manning. -------------------------------- STILL, NEARLY HALF A CENTURY OF SEASONS AND ALL WE GET IS 4 HOME PLAYOFF WINS. FOUR AFTERNOONS OR EVENINGS WHEN FANS WENT HOME WITH THE JUBILATION OF POSTSEASON VICTORY. That's criminal. For perspective, our stadium partners the NYG, have hosted 8 home playoff games & won 5 in the same 24 year period. Not too mention 3 SBs out of 4. The GDPatriots have hosted and won 6 home playoff games in just the past 3 years. Seven... home.....playoff.....games......across..... 48......seasons. Four...playoff.....wins Makes it seem ridiculous to send in your playoff money at all. DON'T WE DESERVE SOMETHING BETTER?
The Jets played at Shea for 20 years, the rest was at the Polo Grounds yes we deserve much much better
Completely blanked out on the Polo Grounds. It was 2 am and I had Shea on the brain. I was watching a rerun of Jets Fins 1981, Todd is God, the rib, the cheap shot and Todd to Barkum. Gotta get a life.
^ Don't you think the 40 years of frustration and lousy football had something to do with that? I'm not saying its right, but believe me, I understand it.
Wow, paltry numbers. I was at two of the four home wins--1986 vs Kansas City and 2002 vs Indianapolis.
Not surprised. This is what happens when you don't have your own stadium. Maybe the New stadium can dupe the Jets into thinking it's theirs but I think until we get our own place (which Woody has now made sure it would not happen in our lifetime) we will not have an Identity as a Team but will always be a team that plays in "Giants Stadium". ....Although I am hoping JetBlue steps up for the naming rights. I was at the Colts playoff game and It was incredible
That wasn't all of us, just a small but vocal minority. Probably some of the same kind of retards from this board.
Speaking of reruns, I watched the 98 AFC title game today, talk about depressing, I hate Van Dyke, Byars, and Megget, they fumbled away our Superbowl game.....
Its not the stadium. What a lousy excuse. Blame the stadium, blame Woody. BS!!!! Blame the front offices that we have had and the damm players. We are never winning the Super Bowl, get it. The Giants rule, not because that ugly piece of crap bears their name, because they won 3 super bowls, held championship games and they give their fans something.... oops I forgot most of you turncoats were rooting for them in the Super Bowl. Maybe we should play in Harrison with the soccer team. Hey by August most of you will have us in the playoffs. Never mind we have no QB, no offensive line, no defensive line and 1 LB. We are in for a long dry spell with a bean counter as a GM. I am totally disgusted with the entire orginization and PSL's will be the end of my 28 year run without one Super Bowl appearance and not one, not one stinking Chapionship home game.
DUDE! Fuckin stop with the old thread posts. You aint gonna be here long enough to reach 10 posts if you keep this shit up....
I saw two as well- Jax '98 and Indy '02 We were off to a good start in the Meadowlands w/ 2 home games in our first 4 years there.
well, i'm not a fan of Brady's, but i am a fan of him getting injured and i cheered wildly when he did get injured. does that count? brady hurt: :rofl::rofl:
