I seem to remember that for the first 25 years of my life, living in NJ, I still rooted for the Giants to win all of the Super Bowls they've been in. You must either have really shitty friends or just like to complain.

No, I've just always hated the fucking Giants. Sorry my opinion is different than yours. Maybe you should be a Giant fan then, you'd be happier.

Probably because you're not 89 years old, like yours truly. I'll try to put this whole Super Bowl in some perspective. It's all about pros and cons.

Pro: I usually go for the AFC.
Con: It was the smug Patriots, who have somehow managed to become neck and neck with the true pukes of the AFCE (in my book), the Miami Dolphins. No, trust me, the Patriots 'legacy of winning' is not sour grapes. It really isn't.
Pro: If NE wins, it shuts up Shula and his Junior Varsity 1972 Miami Dolphins, thus cementing more glee for Jets fans for kicking Shula's ass in Super Bowl III.
    Con: It's the Patriots.
Pro: If the Patriots lose, it's one of the most epic collapses in modern day NFL history, and it couldn't happen to bigger turds.
    Con: It's the Giants.
Pro: The Giants win, and the entire city of Boston and all her minions fall at the hands of New York. Now, now, I happen to like Boston very much, and I actually love "New England" - just not some of the people in it.
    Con: It's still the Giants.
Pro: Seeing a team with no clue what getting their ass beaten fair and square is all about standing there in absolute shock. Nice to see Goliath taken down with a sling shot.
    Con: It's still the Giants.
Pro: My favorite cousin, ten years my senior, my only ally in my Mom's family who I love more than anything and has been a Giants fan his entire life, I get to see him happy.
Con: I feel so dirty rooting for the Giants.
Pro:: Best case fantasy land scenario: Belichick gets the knife twisted in his lying ego and a) gets fired b) gets booted from football and c) is eventually disgraced if the Patriots go down. Goodell may not be Commissioner next year. The lid gets blown off, and I get to eat lots of popcorn watching the drama unfold in the offseason.

Final analysis: GO G-MEN! SORT OF!

EDIT: In all seriousness, congratulations to the New York Giants. Even though your older fans are so stodgy it's like they're crapping marble when they cheer, you played a game for the ages. Aye-yigh, I'm gonna be sick...

The first half of that game was the ugliest game that I've ever seen.

They'd probably do something similar -- maybe not a full page.

Classy move on the Jets part.

All I know is, when and if the Jets win a SuperBowl, it's going to be such a good feeling.

VERY CLASSY move by our Jets! kinda reminds me of when the Braves took out a full page ad congratulating Greg Maddux for his 300th win in the Chicago paper...just another STEP UP for our guys!
