Head Coach Eric Mangini will be a guest on Mike and Mike in the Morning on ESPN Radio @ 7:05 AM Tuesday.

New York Jets head coach Eric Mangini is down in Orlando for the NFL Meetings. But he's going to sneak away for a few minutes Tuesday morning to guest on Mike and Mike in the Morning on ESPN Radio. So tune in on your morning drive or set your alarm clock just a little bit earlier to hear the first-year coach talk Jets football and other league news.

i doubt there will be doom and gloom, and im sure Mangini will be tight lipped, but something may slip.

Pre-Mike & Mike Mangini Transcript (from fortune teller JetsGoFar)

Here's my attempt to foresee the future and what Mangini will say....my take on what Mangini will say on the morning show:

"We're looking for smart, tough football players who love and respect the game. Football must be very important to our players, We want players with character, ones that understand what it takes to win. Give me a player that has talent and wants to get better every time he gets on the field, and I'll show you a New York Jet. That is the mentality we're trying to build here, and we won't compromise that. It's about the front of the jersey, not the back. Our fans are great fans and they deserve a great team. That's what I hope to bring to the New York Jets, and I will do everything in my power to make our fans proud."

Although what he and Tanny say to the media can sound slightly robotic, I must say I still eat it up. Not because of their words, but that I truly believe they will try and accomplish these goals as quickly as possible. I love the new Jets regime, where they spend more time worrying about building this franchise up to a higher level and less time worrying about catering to the media. They at least have control over what they do, they'll never have control over what the media wants to portray and speculate about. It's better to not respond, so everyone keeps guessing while the true plan is being formulated.

    Go Jets!!

Just listened. Did his typical robot stuff, which is fine with me. Two major things, he spoke highly of existing QB's Chad and Pat. He also stated they would take best player available, which to me plays into the not trading up philosophy. I'm not a big fan of tradeing up. Not when we can get Ferg, Mario, Hawk or Huff at 4.

He said we will take best player available so he wouldn't be giving anything away...

ZERO CHANCE! No WAY we draft a QB or trade up in this draft! I mean, how could this possibly be an option?! (sarcasm)

Get used to these types of interviews. He was good to listen to but gave you really nothing. You can see he has learned and will follow in Parcells and Belichecks ways. Great for the team but not for getting info out to the fans.

Good looking out Kris, I tried to get up early enough to listen to it but couldn't. No surprise he wasn't going to say much about the draft...I sure as hell wouldn't want him to say too much about their draft strategy. It was fluff more than anything but it was good to at least hear from our coach.
