I was listening to Fox Sports Radio at my desk this afternoon, and they were talking about how it was so cold at the Packers-Giants game that helmet decals were exploding on helmet-to-helmet contact. They also said something about how Joe Buck talked about it, but I don't recall hearing or seeing it. Anyone else remember seeing that?
Yeah, I do, on one play, I think Ahmad Bradshaw lowered his helmet and hit a guy right on it, it actually injured the other guy, one of Greenbay's cornerbacks, and a big piece of the stripe on his helment ended up about 10 feet away. During alot of the game little pieces of white were up in the air.
That's how it was describe, although I don't recall seeing it. I'm going to need to see video of that.
I thought this thread was going to be about an idea for a new XFL-type league. Or wishful thinking for the Pats-Giants game.
I saw this several times. Some players had big chunks of paint missing, like 1/2 of one side. I wonder if you needed to see it in HD to see it.... it was very clear, and several players were missing parts of logos and stripes. The Bradsaw one they showed in slow motion, and you could see the paint chips flying off.
rats, i thought this would say that MNF would do the exploding helmets thing again like they used to do back in the 90's. That always was a favorite of mine and got me ready for the game...

I really hope they use exploding helmets in the Super Bowl. Especially for the Patriots. Harrison, Bruschi, Wilfork, Mankins, etc.
