if the pats and the Giants are in the superbowl together. nobody you don't root for anyone. If the championship happens to land in NY, then good...its in NY and not "new england." But you're still gonna have to deal with Giant fans who are stuck up and think your team is shit. there's nothing that says you have to root for a team...and if you do, its fake. You're not a fan of this these teams and you don't have to root! Unless you're one of those lame people that like all teams from his/her city equally...which isn't really a fan in my eyes. I won't root for Green Bay because they are not the Jets, but i'll tell ya that it would make me most content in the given situation if the Packers stomped all over NY and then eeked by the Pats for Favre's 2nd ring. That would be sweet. We'll just have to wait and see...
I don't hate the Giants. It's more fun when both teams of the city are winning anyway. And you know what if the Giants win the Super Bowl and we went 4-12 then guess what, they have the right to say our team is shit.
I don't like the Giants but I am in Las Vegas and the only stuck up jint fans I have to deal with don't live near me so if it's them and the Pats I know where me rooting intrest is.
root ?verb (used without object) 1. to encourage a team or contestant by cheering or applauding enthusiastically. I will only root for the Jets. Why can't people just watch the game, and see what happens. If the Giants win you'll either be more happy or less happy, but its not the same as victory or defeat for a team you truly root for.
Obviously since I'm a New England sports fan, I'm going to root for the Patriots, but if I hypothetically lived in...Oklahoma I would say that the Giants are by far the most un-irritating (yes that is a word, i didn't make it up) team of the 4 left. The Chargers: Chokey head coach, obnoxious qb who taunts opposing fans in the stands before even congratulating his teammates after landing upset of the century, overly pious running back who is more worried about other teams imitating Shawn Merriman (don't get me started on him, i don't care if he helped some people rebuild their houses in San Diego) retarded dance than cementing his place as one of the best backs in the history of the game. Patriots: Nothing needs to be said about why they could potentially be unappealing to some people on this forum. Packers: Bret Favre is a glorified redneck who when he plays on sunday nights or comes up in conversation prompts John Madden to engage in a terribly graphic splooge-fest. He's reckless, he's old. A lot of the time he's stupid. And the media loves him for it. Which leaves the Giants. They have a mean ass coach but overall they're pretty under the radar and most of their big players haven't been big for long enough to make me hate them yet.
Yeah yeah - all that aside - You might choose a team you wouldn't mind seeing winning, but I'm certainly not going to act like I'm a Giants fan and scream at the TV like I do for Jets games ... simply because they are playing the putrid pats... that said....the Giants annoy me. Their QB has gotten SO MUCH time to prove himself, simply because he is a Manning. Our QB was getting smashed by the media by seasons end and he had only a handful of starts with a poor line. They are opposite of the Jets in terms of character. Players like Shockey and Strahan are showboaters. Shockey gets his team dumb penalties and the fans love him. The Jets played them this season and should have beaten them, just like they should have beaten 7 other teams. Damn, this season sucked. Football does not exist until the next draft, lol. /rant over
Is there more than one incident where Tomlinson had a problem with an opposing team acting like jerks after a game? I only know of one time when he did that.
how can you hate on brett favre, the guy is a legend and i hope he plays for as many seasons as he can. and im sorry to say this, but the giants aint gonna beat green bay at green bay with a banged up secondary. the "glorified redneck will pass for 350+ yards...
