Would you trade 6 and Vilma to get Dorsey?

Heard some speculation that Tuna would trade down from #1.

In all likelihood, the best the Jets could expect to get for Vilma is a 3rd or 4th rounder, depending on his health.

Depending on how you feel about Dorsey, would you ship JVille to the Fins and swap picks?

No. I think Dorsey is going to be a great player for some team but I don't think he's the ideal fit for our scheme.

    Why would we want Dorsey?

For that matter, I think Dorsey is officially overrated. He is a great college DT but I haven't seen reason to hand him the number one draft slot. His rating is more of a function of the dearth of talent than him being exceptionally special.

We already have a 3-technique without a home in D-rob...You want two useless DTs on this team?!!

    No

No more trading up.... Let's try to keep our players, and keep our picks, or gain more... There are way too many holes on this team to fix with only a few picks.... We traded up and got a couple studs last year, but we were left with a lot of holes....

Now is the time to fill those holes

Dorsey is not a nose tackle. The Jets can't afford to spend value on a questionable 3-4 defensive end until they nail down the nose tackle spot.

Exactly, better value to trade down and let the scouts find the talent.

If the Jets trade Vilma, I think it will be to swap first rounders and get a 2nd.

I honestly don't see him having much trade value after the injury. Of course nobody really know much about the details of his injury, other than it's a LEG, and it ended his season. Neither of which bode well for the trade value of a finesse LB.

I would trade # 6 and Vilma to get one of the Longs or McFadden but not for Dorsey. Also, using Vilma to get # 1 would enable us to trade back down and get value.

Vilma isn't getting anybody #1 with the #6. Hell, Pennington and Vilma and #6 won't get #1..people are delusional around here.

Am I the only one who wants to keep Vilma at this point? He would still make a great ILB next to Harris as long as we get a NT.

Trade a guy who's not a fit for the 3-4 + #6 overall for another guy who's not a fit for the 3-4? No thanks.

If Gholston is expected to go 3 or 4, then I would do it.
