Pro Football weekly did a "mock" of the first 8 picks. Mia-Dorsey StL-J. Long AtL-McFadden Oak-Ellis KC-Claddy Jets- C. Long Pats-Gholdston Balt-Ryan
I'll take it...everywhere I read I see KC taking Claddy, which would really help the Jets out. Of course KC will end up trading down with the Pats and then the Pats will take whoever the Jets really wanted.
why in the world would the falcons take mcfadden thats retarded they have norwood who is a young back who has proven he is very good. they have no qb and their defense isnt getting any younger
a lot of teams have 2 good rb's now, the vikings drafted peterson when they had c.taylor, the bears drafted c.benson when they had t.jones, the bills drafted mcghaee when they had t.henry
yea but the vikings already had a good team their d was best in the lg and peterson was hyped more than mcfadden. Its the same with the bills the bills d was top notch when they drafted mcgahee
Long or Gholston would make the most sense, especially when you consider Hobson will be a UFA and it's likely he won't be back next year. Our already weak OLB position takes another hit.
I really do not see NE being in the market to trade up at all. They really have to start addressing their linebacking corps if they are going to sustain themselves. I see them staying where they are and taking best linebacker available.
I do not agree that McFadden will go to ATL. Atlanta needs a QB badly. They either bring somebody in which I doubt happens. Plus, they are caught up in the courts right now on getting some of Vick's bonus back and taken off of the cap. They almost definitely will take the best QB available in the draft. McFadden goes to Oakland or KC, both of whom do not really need him based on needs so a trade up is possible from somebody below us.
The only reason I had to say something is this same guy keeps making the same mistake. What are the odds he starts another thread with GholDston in the title in January?
why would atl take mcfadden when they they have no qb? and they have 2 very good rbs in dunn and norwood( who has shown nothing but big play potential)
Because given the choice between a good quarterback prospect and a great running back prospect, you have to take the back. Minnesota just missed the playoffs by a week or two with absolutely no passing game whatsoever. Atlanta could probably do the same with a guy like Pennington under center. Leftwich isn't a total lost cause. I think that teams problems were totally compounded by the Vick situation and the disastrous incompetence of Petrino and his staff. A new coach is probably worth at least two more wins there. -X-
There's no telling what NE will do. They really don't NEED to improve their team at all. They could sit tight where they are and just let a player fall to them. They could do what they've done in past years and trade out of that spot to stockpile picks or they could trade up just to F with the Jets. Knowing how spiteful and petty a person BB is, I could actually see him trading up to #5 just to sabotage the Jets.
