Don't think the Jets would go after him considering they had him in for a look earlier in the year and didn't bite. But any beef upfront would make me feel better.

u know parcells and bellichick always liked veterans, personly i do to as long as they can still produce, having washington play 8-10 snaps a game could help us

He's about one Cheeseburger away from being a "Biggest Loser" contestant. But seriously, he's probably better (at least against the run) than any NT on our current roster. If they signed him on the cheap as a stopgap solution, it might not be that bad of a move.

Then you have to bounce either DRob or Pouha. You can't eat three roster spots for guys who all play the same exact position. You can't have two of them on the field at any one time, so you've lost a spot that you could use for a ST player.

If you're going to send someone packing, it has to be because you've found what you believe to be the solution.

If Rob Ryan comes in, don't be surprised if the Jets go to a base 4-3 defense.

I would move D-Rob to end, and Ellis to Thomas's OLB spot, and keep Pouha as Washington's rotation.

Ryan and Mangini both come from 3-4 systems, if he comes in it isn't going anywhere.

They even come from the SAME 3-4 system.

what i dont understand is, "why all the love for the 3-4 defense?" it takes specialized players to work which we dont have, and will take a long time to get, if we even do. by the time we get the pieces to run it mangini will have lost so many games he wont be here. multiple defense is the only way to go,in my opinion.

He, nor any other capable NT is a Mangini guy, I foresee another failed NT experiment coming for next year.

ted washington's a chode, that is why i like him

i cant believe hes 375, i honestly feel bad for him when he retires, his heart has got to be in pain

ryan only ran a 4-3 because al davis likes it better

and i think we should run multiple fronts unti we have all the need players for the 3-4, i then think the defense will be lethal...everyone will be young and maybe they will all be in their prime when the 3-4 is set

    sweet!!!

He's a 3-4 guy who's had a 4-3 forced on him by Al Davis for years now.

Ted Washington at 50 would still be more effective at NT in a 3-4 than D-Rob.

We are putting personal into place for the 3-4. If you build it, it will come. The 3-4 defense is by far the best defensive scheme in the league. So the plan is to struggle short term, reap major benefits in the long run. The defense is not that far off from being atleast managable with a 3-4. We are only missing a couple pieces. Not 11.

that makes sense to me--then we can keep drob and play him at DT, not NT. Ellis is a 4-3 end and Harris can play MLB. Vilma? Trade or move to OLB. Cut Thomas.

Chester McGlockton was also big and fat but that didn't work out.
