So.....would anyone take the OVER or UNDER as far as Vinny Un-retiring again when some desperate-shmuck-of-a-GM gives him a call to come off his couch next year again? :breakdance:

He may not be a solution at starter, but if your starting QB is out for a week or two, you'd be smart to get this old fart.

Yeah since when does Vinny honor his retirements?

I believe him, the guys 44 and it wouldn't make sense if his body wasn't breaking down.

I wish Vinny the best, he did alot of great things for us. Unfortuantely his teammates fumbled away a chance for the SB in '98.

After he helped Beli rub our nose in shit in the W/C game last year I hope Woody doesn't let him retire a Jet....

How is that Vinny's fault? What is he supposed to do say, "Hell no, I ain't playing against my former team." He felt he could play, so he signed with the only team that really wanted him at the time. Most of us would have done the same thing. Especially since he would make a million here or there by just sitting on the bench.

I saw his last snap in Tampa Sunday. Lots of players and coaches on both teams were rushing up to him to congratulate him. Vinnie got a standing ovation in the bar, from fans of a lot of different teams (mostly Panther fans), it was nice to see the respect.

Which is more respect than I've seen from some on THIS board, hiker. :(

Some here won't let go of the fact that he was on the patriots. BIG DEAL! HE DIDN'T WIN(translation : Patriots didn't win it all) so he should be forgiven for that transgression.

Personally, I'm glad he went out this way where he tried to do it HIMSELF on a team that isn't a rival or a hated foe by us....

Good Luck, Vinny. A Vinny, Vidi, Vicci from those here who still respect you.

I'm just glad he's finally retired, period. To have somehow managed to escape the NFL after so many years without suffering any long-term injuries like Concussions(Marino, Young) is astounding in itself.

Not many players in sports(in general) get to walk away relatively unscathed after feeling thoroughly satisified with their careers...Vinny has become one of the rare few who did. Sure he didn't get a ring but he's got his good health, family, money, and post-career to look forward to.

IMO..He would make a DAMN GOOD....
.... QB Coach for a team that has a strong armed QB that needs someone to help him settle down and learn how to let things come to him.
.....QB coach for a young strong armed QB that appears will not have a veteran presence next year as his back-up
.....QB coach for a young strong armed QB that when can provide guidance and understanding when the YOUNG QB comes to the sideline, because when he was a player he saw every possible formation and coverag package possible..

.....Now if we could only find a team with such a need...

Sorry, Todd. Vinny and his family are moving to Tampa and if he ever does decide to become a coach(whether it's a strength&conditioning one or QB one), it'll have to be either with Tampa Gay or Miami(ugh) which in the latter case could happen since Fatso-Tuna-breath is now the one "buying the groceries" so to speak.
