I'm tempted to say Clemens, as hes been picked up a couple of times mouthing in his direction.....or is it something I've missed?
What's pissing Mangini off is that his magic wand is on the fritz this year. Couldn't be his talent evaluation or coaching skills at fault here, has to be some player's fault.
I wouldn't be too happy either if the supposed franchise QB I spent a 2nd round pick is better suited for Dancing on the Stars. This team is a mess and it's pathetic that QB play is probably not on the top of the troubles of this disaster than Mangini and Tannenbaum have assembled. It's not going to get better unless there's a big change in philosophy this offseason.
I was still out on Clemens , and many people here will say its unfair to judge him yet, maybe. But There are just too many issues with his play. Dillema, Trading Chad would get us somewhere between 2-4 rounder , dependant on how desperate a team is. He goes , we need another experienced QB on the bench , will Tuiasasopo still be here? I don't know. I suppose at the end of the day it doesn't matter , let Clemens do his stuff and trade/draft a QB in '09.
If the Jets fix the o-line and put two competent receivers on the field we'll be able to assess Clemens next year. If they don't it won't matter who is back there. I'm still firmly in the "not enough info yet" camp on Clemens and I'm going to stay there until the typical Jets passing play turns into more than a stampede to the QB or a .5 second drop and a dumpoff to whoever is open 2 yards down the field. You just cannot evaluate Clemens yet given these circumstances.
