We don't need a rb, wr, te, or even a qb right now. WE NEED AN O-LINE so just stop with the mcfadden, trade coles and dump baker threads.Chad sucks and cellems suck. You can put Jesus Christ behind center and he wouldnt succeed. Before they address any position its got to start with the o-line. Then its the coaches. They are so stupid and predictable. Patriots are so good because they study every which way to win. And to everyone who bitches about guys being to old in their late 20's well pats got some guys in the mid 30's starting so drop that already. I see thread stating Coles is old. Hes the same age as Randy Moss.

Actually, we also need a QB. and a slot WR. and a FB. an upgrade at TE would be nice. True, we do need another three starting OLinemen. But we also need another starting DE. and a NT. Some better OLBs. another starting CB. and a starting FS. And then we need to add more depth at all these positions.

If you haven't noticed, we have a lot of needs. To zero in on any one thing and say "that's why we suck and that's what we need to fix" is silly and purposeless.

Wouldn't you get tired of reading this board if every thread was about imrpoving the offensive line, as you seem to want? In that case, why don't you just talk to yourself.

great teams start with great lines

if you don't have great olines and dlines you're going no where

i don't care what your other pieces are and how many superstars you have, if you don't have the lines, you're going no where

Throwing 5 straight first round picks at the problem isn't an answer though.

Look at the Vikings. Only one player on their line, Bryant McKinnie, was one of their first round picks. The other guys they brought in through free agency.

If our front office/coaching staff isn't creative enough to acquire what we need through routes other than the draft, then they don't deserve to keep their jobs.

Offensively speaking you are right on the money. The OL is weak and BS has been awful with his play calling. Last year his play calling was all new and it worked. Now that everyone knows what is coming, it does not work anymore and he has failed to adjust. CP can throw the long ball just fine. He was spot on last week with a 30+ yard pass yet people blame CP. It not CP is it BS.

Exactly, we can still draft McFadden and address o-line in the later rounds and free agency.
    That I understand.

Wait so now we need to have every o-lineman be a 1st rounder? How is Robert Gallery doing??? Look at most of the lineman around the league and a lot are 2nd day or undrafted players.

You know what else the Pats have besides a great o-line??? One of the best qb's ever, one of the best wr's ever. They have always been a team with intangibles to win, this offseason they got there 3 wr's and Thomas on defense.

Most starting OTs in the NFL were drafted in the first round or the top half of the second round (I think the stat is around 80% but that might just be for LTs).

Last time I checked Gallery was starting at LG for the Raiders. Its not what they were hoping for but at least he is still playing. I think they got more out of Gallery than we got from Blair Thomas.

We need to draft at least one more OLineman in the one of the first 3 rounds of the draft. Signing a competent veteran guard would also go a long way, IMO. As far as the 1st pick goes, we need so many things, I don't think it matters what we take - just take the best available and plug a major hole.

Yes, we need O-Line help. But to say that we shouldn't draft a playmaker with a high first round pick is stupid. Guard and Right Tackle are not positions you draft in the first round. We can pick up someone round 2 or 3 that can start at either position.

please do not mention moss and coles in the same breath..... the next thread may be an unfair comparison of the two. coles and moss are not comparable in any way.

Coles is much better. It more than stats. Coles never stopped running his routes and didnt play in games cause he didnt want to. They both have hands and speed. Coles is a much tougher wr. Moss would never lay himself out to make a catch.

We need to upgrade both lines. Look at the Giants. They are a playoff team because of that. There QB and secondary sucks so how do they do it. Protect and pressure. We have neither.

Does our o-line need upgrades? Absolutely, and we should take care of that via FA.

BUT, it's not the only reason we are where we are right now. With a decent QB, even with a horrible o-line, this team would've started 7-1 as opposed to 1-7 (chad starting).

    Moss >>>>> Coles

Coles is a very good player and should be a favorite of every Jets fan, but no way he's a better player.

Moss seems to calm down when he's on a good team. If you're a good team, can't fault him for that.

Randy Moss is one of the best receivers EVER. Coles isn't a top 10 receiver in the league. Can I have some of what you're smoking?
