I think he has the mobility & lining him up next to the DE creates a more powerful tandem. Especially on passing downs. Coleman could be a better pass rusher from the OLB position....IMO.
In a word? No. In two? Now you're just pushing it. I gave you the answer. Don't ask me to rephrase on top of that.
If he could he would be already unless of course you think the coach is an idiot which of course he is anyway.
Parcells had Coleman for 3 seasons. He decided over the course of those 3 seasons that Coleman was a rotation guy who could step in and give you some downs when your starter was winded but not a lot more than that. Last winter Parcells apparently gave Coleman an endorsement when the Jets asked about him. So the Jets bit and gave him a starter's contract. Now Parcells is in Miami, hmmm...
I am eagerly awaiting your "Can Nugent have an impact at QB" thread.:drunk: I think i need more xmas egg nog.
You guys are rough. Asking if Coleman can play an OLB in the 3-4 isn't like asking if Chad Pennington can play wide reciever. Often guys who are 4-3 ends can have sonme success in the 3-4 outside linebacker position. As far as the question goes I haven't seen anything out of Coleman that makes me think he's an every down player at any position. I think we shoulde just bite the bullet and use him as a rotational player as we see fit.
He's a 3-4 end, not a 4-3 end. He isn't asking if Chad can play wideout. He's asking if Chad can play guard.
