I have a question i didnt watch the whole game but i noticed that vanden bosch had 3 sacks. Is this because he is a beast, d'brick sucks or because our o line sucks and d'brick has no help?

probably a bit of all three. d'revolvingdoorashaw is an AMAZING flop considering where he was drafted. Al Groh screws the jets yet again.

    I'd say a mix of all 3.

Vanden Bosch is having a great season. D'Brick got owned today, as did the O-Line.

D'Brick got owned on one of the sacks. The first sack was when KVB ran to a hole Haynesworth made.

Then again...if D'Brick was a beast he would have been pancaked. But my guess is it's tough to pancake Vanden Bosch.

Brick actually played well today, aside from the one sack. Its hard to notice the contributions of a lineman because when they are playing well, you don't notice them. But when they give up sacks, you do notice them.

Tennessee blitzed many extra men yesterday, and Brick picked up whomever he faced. Because of the blitzing, Chad was able to find many open wide receivers which is the reason for his high completion %... although he did get sacked many times (but thats a mixture of the right tackles and tight ends screwing up).

On the play where Brick gave up a sack, he didn't really get pushed back. Bosch looped around and got to Chad with his speed. However, this sack could have been avoided if Chad stepped up into the pocket. Its hard to blame either Chad or Brick on this on, but in this case you'd have to blame Brick. He could of pushed Bosch further into his loop.

Brick played well, he isn't dominating but he's getting there. I'd worry more about clement, who got pushed on his ass.

    brick played fine.

i love how people pile on brick when he is one of only two guys that are nfl quality on our line. think about how ridiculous that is. the rg, lg, and rt suck

Vanden Bosch is a beast but one sack over D'Brick..Tennessee was doing alot of stunting up front and sending a LB or two.I thought a couple times if Chad stepped up into the pocket he could have avoided at least 2-3 sacks..He doesn't appear to have the pocket awareness for a rush like say Manning or Brady does, but thats why there Manning and Brady!

Brick is coming along. He's not the instant Pro Bowl HOFer that people expect with the #4 pick but he's decent. The protection scheme as a whole wasn't good, but that's not Bricks fault.

Kowaleski was asked to block vanden bosch on one sack. that was a mistake.

Agreed, it's not all Brick's fault. But, your comment "He's decent" says it all, you don't expect the 4th pick in Rd 1 to be "Decent". He's got to step up and play like a Top pick and not be average.

There are 2 things D'Brick needs to be way better. He needs a very good OT to play next to him and he also would benefit by a great blocking full-back.

    This is nothing new.

I am glad to see that guys here are actually paying attention to the OL. (not a sarcastic comment) Brick picked up his man and for the most part played well. I know that is not going to sit well with the guys that can not get over we spent a #4 on him but nothing will ever please them anyhow.

Someone above had a great observation about the one sack where Brick got beat...... good job on that.

The Titans did what all the successful pass rush teams have done to the Jets all year. They overloaded that side of the line to take advantage of the fact that the LG position is a major leak on the line. They create mismatchs and make it look easy to get to the QB. So you see Vanden Bosch on Kowaleski or Haynesworth on Montegomery. The problem with Brick is on many plays he almost has to pick up 2-3 guys. It appears that he just has to take the one closest to him and freaking pray that someone will get the person he can not block.

Then the other side of the line you have a giant LOL. Clement got pancaked yesterday. That is about the first time I have ever seen a RT knocked on his ass on a straight up rush.

Among the 5 spots on the O-line, the Jets have the 2 worst players at their positions in the entire NFL. That is on the FO to fix. If they do not.................... Well we will see an brand new staff in 2 years or at the very least we should.
