ESPN confirmed the Jets have asked for a private work out with Young on Monday. Apparently the Daily News reported this already today.

Im sure alot of you knew this, but I didn't see it posted so those of us out of NY without the Daily News may not have known.

Personally im not too thrilled with Young. I don't like his unorthodox throwing style.

Vince Young or bust this guy is the real deal and the future franchise of the New York Jets.

Everyone is down on him now.The day after the Rose Bowl the guy could have ran for President and won.He is the future of this organization and all of you dont want him do not want to win.

I don?t know if he would be smart enough to navigate the New York / New Jersey freeway system.

I think one if the questions on the Wonderlic test was ?You are at Exit 4 on the turnpike; if you are Northbound and exits are going up what would be the next exit??

    Vince Young?s answer: ?Feburary?

After being through the two Rose Bowls and the Ohio State game, seeing Young put the team on his back and deliver victory after victory, I can't imagine why any NFL team would pass on him. I can't think of a single player in college football history who has put his team on his back and led them to 20 straight the way Young did.

And to those who doubt, how many college players can you name who accomplished all that Vince did and then went on to be busts in the NFL? Mind you we are talking about a guy who is among the best to ever play the college game and was also the #1-rated recruit in the nation coming out of high school. I would say success is written all over this guy.

Oh, but tell me again how you don't like his throwing motion.

Good news. We're starting to work out the top prospects in next month's draft early enough.

No need to look past the simple fact that we'll probably want to see the top 7-8 players in this years draft by ourselves, one-on-one, man-to-man.

First of all it's a trick question because I think 6A is the next exit? You really are over estimating smarts and underestimating technology. The new Hummer comes with a navigation system in animation format.

They will work out Young.... all due diligence. I just don't think Young fits the mold these guys want. Young's release DOES mean he will have to have open passing lanes to throw in, something that wasn't a problem for him at Texas. He also didn't face a steady diet of 6'5" D linemen to throw over. Young may end up being good, but he is clearly a project for the NFL, IMO.

I would LOVE to have Vince Young on this team. He's a winner, plain and simple.

In 34 days 20 hours if I hear Tagleabue say "The New York Jets select with the 4th pick in the 2006 NFL Draft Vince Young QB from the University of Texas" I will be upset and burn something down...

He's no more work than Cutler. Both have mechanical issues, but the severity of which really depend on who you talk to. Young's problems are largely with those who think that his near side arm flick will mean a ton of batted balls, but the fact that he's a hair over 6-5 really negates that problem. His motion does not require a complete overhaul, just a minor tweaking. Changing it completely would be a terrible, unnecessary mistake. Plus, I've seen that in some QBs that lower release really helps both the velocity and accuracy, even if they're naturally an over the top thrower.

As for Cutler, his lie in his feet. Many overlook this problem, saying that because he played at Vandy, it's expected to have a problem like this, seeing as how there was no OL to protect him. While that is true, the thing that is worrisome are the habits that were developed in that time. Happy feet are the death knell for many young Quarterbacks, and is still plaguing another QB who came out of a terrible SEC school (Eli Manning). When you consider that Eli was overall a much better passer coming out, it should draw concern on how Cutler will overcome it.
