I have no idea why any of you would want to waste our 4th pick on an o-lineman dont you realize you could rebuild the line in the mid-rounds. When you have a high pick like we have you go for the big playmakers whether it be defense or offense. If the jets get ferguson they will seriously convice me there is simply no hope for this team. GET A PLAYMAKER!!!!!!!

Id like to address oline in the 2nd round and 3rd round, after trading down. Say, Nick Mangold or MJ Gilles in the 2nd, and Andrew Whitworth or Ryan O'Callaghan in the 3rd. Then with the 1st and 2nd Id either go Vernon Davis and Joseph Addai, or DeAngelo Williams and Mercedes Lewis

especially at RB! Martin is not the future although Herm and Boobway thought he'd be our starter thru 2009.

Well I don't want D'Brickashaw Ferguson because of Adrian Jones not because he's an OL... though if Ferg was a more refined run blocker he'd definitely be worth a top 5 pick and would benefit us more then guys like AJ Hawk would.

I don't want to draft a skills position guy either (unless Leinart or Bush fall) because they'll get a huge-ass contract and will have to go through major growing pains with OL we draft at 29/2nd round. Some guys in today's NFL just fold under that pressure and become labelled a "bust." Our best choices would be Mario Williams or AJ Hawk.

i agree, we need someone who can produce touchdowns for us via passing, running or catching. not blocking!

Those guys help produce them too they just aren't physically scoring the TD themselves...having said that, I don't want D'Brickashaw at 4.

I would prefer a move up for Matt Leinart.

    Hey!

You don't build a team with "playmakers"! We need an Oline and a Dline! And heres a news flash for ya........ a OT can be a "playmaker"!

I understand the desire among Jet fans to want to grab a flashy playmaker capable of producing headlines. Although I've always believed that the way to build a champion caliber franchise is to start in the trenches, and work your way out. At the same time I believe quality OL can be had in the middle rds. I'm not set on any player in the draft this year, although people on this board have me more interested in M.Williams,V.Davis, and Hawk than I was before. So many options for the Jets this year it makes me dizzy. I guess I'll just sit back and enjoy the ride. I don't think I'm going to be to dissapointed in whatever the FO decides to do.
