Ignoring the truth doesn't actually create a new reality.

    Awww, how cute.

You ignored my comment because you had no answer for it and attacked my spelling instead.

Your not only a troll, but an unskilled one. Gratz on that. Must be a good life.

You dope. Go read something about what prior written notice means.

    You are clearly an idiot.

You're right, if only I could get to the level of criticizing another poster's messageboard etiquette instead of correcting their command of the English language ironically. In case I'm not doing it right, let me state plainly that you apparently did not get it.

Really? You think it applies to the NFL? Want to go back the library and recheck that? The Commissioner's powers do not extend to creating new regulations without the consent of a majority of the ownership and PWN is not necessary to enforce an existing rule within the punitive framework he has available to him. The existence of an arbitration system for fines and penalties within the powers of the Commissioner means that his rulings do not require prior written notice on infractions that are part of the established regulations pertaining to the operations of the league. The rules themselves in the form of the CBA, Operations Manual and Rulebook are PWN.

Oh wait, lets bring it down to your level - Butthead.

I've sat through more humiliating Jets defeats than Bill Belichick is capable of delivering this weekend, and none of them came at the hands of the Pats, so you can take your little fan drama game of 'fear', wrap it in bacon and stuff it down your chowder-hole.

For the record, I am glad that the Jets cooperated with the NFL to CATCH THE PATRIOTS CHEATING <------------ that is a proven fact, by the way. And I'm glad they were pissed off enough that they have been playing at a breakneck pace for 13 games, because that's when teams start to break down and players start missing games here and there. Not that I'm wishing injuries on your players, I shudder to be one of the '75%' or whatever kind of bullshit you're talking on Pats Planet, but injuries happen, and when they happen late they affect the success of teams like the Pats that look immediately like they could take it all.

I'm also glad that it resulted in the loss of a first round draft pick, because that hurts them more than any Deion Branch situation because they are expert at building through the draft. Although no Pats fan I know would ever admit it hurt them.

Some measure of justice was done, although it was not enough in my mind. Maybe we can catch them cheating in some other way this week, Mangini had access to valuable cheating resources for years, apparently.

no, it's been mainly the Patriots fans whining about how Mangini ratted them out. And that isn't even true. Get your facts straight.

The only thing that bugs me is:

You have to believe Eric knew about filming when he coached for the Pats right?

Of course. Meaning? It wasn't like he was in any position to stop it.

But its not a big stretch to imagine he continued doing it as Jets coach. Is it?

I suppose it depends on the type of person he is.

Actually, whats not a big stretch is to imagine that he was doing it with the Patriots (after all he's a "rat" for "tattling," and "everyone does it") meaning they've obviously been cheating throughout the most successful by far chapter in franchise history.

Actually, it is. For one he couldn't afford the fine like Bellishit. Secondly he was low on the totem pole in NE and not much higher with the Jets. He would have probably been fired.

No, this is only something Bellishit would have the balls to do and not give a shit what embarassment he brought on himself, his city and his team. After all he has the history. He was a scumbag all the way back to his Cleveland days.

I guess it depends on how stupid he is. If you're going to blow the whistle on a division rival for one of the methods they use to analyze and break down the opposing teams playcalls for halftime adjustments, you better make sure you are not guilty of the exact same thing.

I really didn't want to start yet another thread about this so.......

Mangini the rat, Belichick the cheat meet again Sunday
    Wednesday, Dec 12, 2007 10:50 am EST

Dan Shaughnessy, columnist for the Boston Globe wrote: "The New England Patriots got caught by the league because Bill Belichick was arrogant. That's the spin that gets the New York Jets off the hook.

"No one is buying in New England. The Patriots think Eric Mangini ratted them out ? broke a coach's code of dishonor. Belichick and the Patriots blame the Jets for the sanctions and the embarrassment. They blame the Jets for tarnishing three Super Bowl trophies. They got caught cheating. How do we know they didn't cheat their way to all those wins?"

"The Jets are coming to Foxborough Sunday and the bill has come due. The Patriots are an angry Garden mob and the Jets are Ulf Samuelsson. The Patriots are Roger Clemens and the Jets are Dan Duquette."

Source: Boston Globe (what a surprise)

This is why it's nice to be a city with 2 teams in almost every sport... The papers rarely, if ever, put their heads that far up one particular team's ass, because, no matter what, about half the city hates that team... It kind of keeps them relatively in check......

Dan Shaughnessy is anything but a writer with his head up a New England sports team's ass. If you read his stuff on a daily basis, you will soon realize that every compliment he makes towards a team is backhanded, and he rarely ever offers any insight whatsoever. Even a close look at this quote will show that he is actually making fun of most New England fans for the way they defend the Pats, to go along with all the typical Pats-fan excuses.

The man hates happy pro sports fans. He likes to make popculture references from the '50s and recycle them until you really wish that the Sox will just fire Theo Epstein (even if it hurts the team) so that you won't have to read anymore sentences that begin with "young theo and his minions....".

Remember that whole Curse of the Bambino crap? That was invented by none other than CHB (the name dubbed by the insane, non-dinosaur-existence-believing- Carl Everert and what everyone online calls him) and not only does it make absolutely no sense, it contributed more than anything to the perception of New England fans as gloom and doom dumbasses. Simply put, he is a terrible columnist and should never be brought up again on this website, other than in a thread titled "it's not just boston sports fans that are idiots, it's their writers too, and by writers i just mean Dan Shaughnessy".
