We will discuss this at the end of next year. Just like I told you we would be discussing Chad getting benched before this season even started. Kellen is the future not an experiment. Being in every game he started except the one against Dallas while being surrounded by this cast of characters is all I need to see. Surround him with some players and we are in business!
I was watching the NYJ game yesterday on converter 1 & the NEPs game on converter 2 & MHO Belly is on a crusade to destroy the league & we are just the next team in his way. Just think the NEPs got RM for what a 3rd or 4th round DP & we paid a #1 DP for Dave Jolley. Maybe that analogy explains why we have be so bad for so long
I could see Mangini giving Clemens a hook against the Pats only if the Jets blocking schemes totally broke down and the Pats were in the backfield on every passing down. In that case I suspect we'd see Tuiasosopo for his first downs as a Jet, with Brad Smith getting enough downs there to keep Tui alive but not enough to create any kind of QB controversy. I don't expect that to happen though. I expect the game to be closer than we'd all think, given the outlandish expectations being set, and for Clemens to go the whole way.
So Chad is overrated because we lost close games but Clemens is the future because we lost close games. Ok then, gotcha. If anyone was wondering, this kind of logic is why I stopped posting here.
Let's be real they both are pretty awful QB's at this point. Chad beacause of injury, Clemens because he just doesn't have enough experience and we simply don't know what he is yet.
I can't figure out why Kellen's ability to stretch the field with his zippy arm strength didn't open up the running game, which would in turn, open up the passing game. Its mindboggling.
Yeah, me neither. If it stay close Clemens of course will remain in. What I said was that if it's obvious early that we can't move with Clemens, Mangini might be quicker to go to Chad here than he would be in Dallas, or pretty much any other game. But we're not going to Tui first.
CK has not had accuracy nor shown good decision making. He is young and with a team that stinks. I think it was the right move to bring in KC when he did. He needed to see what KC was made of and at that point the season was lost. Granted it's hard to tell with the offence the Jets have this year, but I'm sure Mangini has formed an opinion on KC. I think CP has a better chance of WINNING against the Pats next week than KC. But I still think both would not be successful. We might seea NEW QB next year!
 All that really matters is the size of the divot you leave after your rocket arm hurls the ball into the ground.
Chad has been here five years and has reached his peak. What you saw was what you got from him and that is that. We were never in the games Chad lost!
Chad had double digit leads in second half several games this year that the D blew. I would call that being in the game. I would say we were never in the Dallas game.
Oh no....we most definitely cannot go back to Chad now. We made our bed and now we must sleep in it at least for the time being. Wasn't this the point of putting him in now? So he can learn under fire so he can become perhaps a more polished qb in 08? Sure he has looked bad at times...was he supposed to jump in at our current talent level and light the world on fire? Some of us expect too much from this team right now. Of course, one hopes he doesn't develop happy feet in the meanwhile...but look at how Tavaris Jackson looks after a rocky start...as long as we keep drafting well and finally decide to cash out in FA...we should be fine.
It would be worth it to me for the Jets to give Chad a shot just to see FOURTHANDLONG blow a major freaking gasket in his brain.... it could be the meltdown of all meltdowns.
Chad did hurt us in about 3 games forcing INT's, but I still feel that had more to do with our defense not helping. The defense has sucked pretty hard most of the year.
This is the precursor for the thread on why Chad should start next year. I'm guessing it will have something to do about Clement being pissed off at the off season meal allowance he had a verbal on.
Stat Comparison Pennington (Clemons): 7 starts (6 starts + 2 reserve) games, 128 (117) completions, 190 (224) attempts, 67.4% (52.2%) complete, 1317 (1414) yards, 6.9 (6.3) avg yards, 9 (4) TD, 7 (9) INT, 1 (1) TD Rushing, 2/0 (4/1) Fumbles/lost 87.5 61.1 rating. It seems the 2007 numbers in green (Pennington) are far superior to those in black (Clemons). I don't want to hear the can't compare stats argument - both are playing with the same poor supporting cast and if anything the defense played their best game with Clemons starting.
Do you not think playing Clemens to see if he is the future of this franchise is not taking a step forward. Do you really think Pennington is the future of this franchise? unless you can say Yes to both of these....you have just proved my point.
