Pennington rolled out the ceremonial first ball and got a 9 count. He then moved down the concourse to join the two teams on his pair of lanes. He sat out the 2005 event due to an injury.

am i wrong or does this mean he only rolled one ball and everyones getting a little to carried away

That could be the case if it were 2005, but unfortunately it is 2006.

I'm sure he was strong enough to bowl in the beginning of last season when he was floating paper airplanes to the wide receivers

Most Jets fans didn't like Pennington before he blew out his shoulder TWO times.

I hear he is going to star with Woody Harrelson in Kingpin 2, that is what was behind his bowling appearance.

Deleted post. Bad link. My apologies.

EDIT: Try this. It was from the original link, which also seems to have disappeared. At least on my end.

Have you been watching the Jets the past few years? Penny can get hurt doing things that normal people wouldn't even consider an injury risk, in amazingly catastrophic ways. I thought that wrist injury was a fluke, but then old eggshell went and tore his rotator cuff twice more after that.

So while you, a manly man, can bowl 2-3 times a week for 10 years, eggshell's arm would probably come clean off.

Wow, I had completely forgotten about this thread. Who resurrected this thing?

You have a point. Not a manly man, it is my only physical activity I do other than typing :) If you didn't bowl in my family, your ass got disowned. Just figured pass on some experience.

Funny thing is I did get hurt bowling once, a long time ago. Not my shoulder though, pulled a muscle in my arm just below my elbow. I was in a sling for a month. I was goofing off and was trying to see how much revs I could put on the ball. I swung back, tried to put as much power as I could, and felt a pop as soon as I released. God, that hurt like a son of a bitch.

Not that I contributed anything to the conversation with that story, I was in a sharing mood tonight.
