Really couldn't care less if Revis plays in 154 straight games so long as when he does play he's one of the better DB's in the league. He's on his way there now, unless of course you're inline with the idea that he should dominate right out of college.
Name any shutdown corner that has done that. Go ahead. I'm waiting. BTW, it is 165 straight games. My bad on the count...
i guess by looking into your crystal ball you just knew in your heart we would handle the steelers? i guess one prediction out of the other 9 loses we have makes you a football prophet!!! your post against mine turns you into a sunshiner, but i guess your hatred of real reality, was blinded by ignorance of optimism that doesnt fit. you call yourself a realist......go look at the seasons early posts of mine, you'll see after week 3 that it was i who said we would be where we are today. you should give up on football, "you cant hear jimmy"
The "shut down" db is a myth. The position doesn't allow it, since it's impossible not to fail. Good corners will limit or stop a good recievers impact on a gain. Revis limited arguably the best reciever in the league to four catches (he was not covering him on two of owen's six receptions), and his touchdown pass occured long after the result of the game was in question. And he's a rookie. It's been a very shitty season, considering probably inflated expectations, but if that blinds you from any positives that does qualify you as a darksider...
i maybe viewed as a darksider, but hell, we are 2-9, in rebuild mode, and our gm and coach move up by wasting picks on a player that is not neon deion. there were plays in the dallas game where revis was beat but romo didnt throw to him. the sunshiners want to call revis a lock down corner because owens had 6 rec, and less than 75 yrds. optimism shouldnt come so cheap, when reality should be smacking people in the face.....darkside or not.
I didnt know in my heart we would beat the Steelers, I had a good feeling therefore I predicted, you want a link? here you go... http://forums.theganggreen.com/showpost.php?p=693669&postcount=63 I never said the Jets were going to win every game....you want a trail on my picks, click the bottom link on my sig to see all my picks ( you will have to dig to get to each week) Its obvious you have the intelligence of a peanut. No post of mine makes me a sunshiner...where you come off saying that I have no idea, as you supplied no evidence of this claim. Therefore, you lose!!! I dont need some anyone telling me my stance, when its completely clear to everyone where I stand, and obviously where you stand. (hopefully near a very steep cliff) You are not a realist, you constantly spew crap about how bad our team sucks. I looks for the good, and the bad in the team. But better yet, I love to get my humor from trolls like yourself who obviously post just for attention. Guess what, you get it, but people still dont like you. Why make it sound like anyone who likes Revis on this team is retarded? Do you watch these games, do you even know how to evaluate talent? I bet you haven't even picked up a football in your life....if you have then you just fooled me with how incredibly stupid you can make yourself sound. My advice, stop talking...it doesnt help your case in the slightest... I'm finished with this guy...I dont have time to get him pissed off enough to get banned again...
is john denver your favorite kind of music? i ve played more football in my life than you have probably watched, unless you count watching the games through beer googles.
We moved up in the first to nab Revis, we sent 1,2,5, and got a 6 back for moving up two spots, but our philosophy last draft was never to settle for the BPA in those 2nd day slots. We decided to go D, so we went and got the players we wanted, in positions of need. If we would've stayed in the first spot, and not traded up to the Panthers, the next best CB available would've been Chris Houston, which Atlanta got at 39. WHO?! The other CB's selected in the first after Revis were Aaron Ross and Leon Hall. Houston's having an ineffective year, the others are making some plays, but I'd say Revis' impact on the league has been far and away more noticeable, and he is producing close to the same amount of turnovers. Revis is 5th in the league for rookies in tackling to boot. I'd say that if we wanted a CB, we made a pretty damn good move from what I saw on Thanksgiving.
