You just don't get it do you? AS far as Electric Company's post I've been over it a million times. The Mets were a bad team that went though a slump at the wrong part of the season. 2 game under .500 from June 1st on proves that. Believe what you wanna believe though....
All I, "Electric Company", was saying was - you can't bad mouth the Yankees about losing in the playoffs when the Mets didn't even get there. Also, the Yanks have been a lot more successful than the Mets in recent times...it's mainly because of their payroll, but the Mets are starting to spend too.
My bad on the name, I knew there was Electric in there Yeah we haven't been succesful but when you have 2 less wins in three times as many playoff appearnaces since 2005 you shouldn't diss the Mets either. As far as the collapse see my post about the 2 games under since June 1
I'm not saying we have earned the right to diss the Yankees but given the Yankees postseason embarresments since 2004 the Yankees certainly can't be knocking a Mets team that has 2 more wins in 1 appearance than the Yankees do since game 4 of the 2004 ALCS. The Yankees have won 4 of their last 17 playoff games. That doesn't give anybody the right to knock any other team. If you wanna talk all time fine but I don't give a shit about 1944 or 61 or any other year. The only year that matters is 2007 and the bottom line is both our teams failed in different ways and that shitty city in up north celebrated again because of it.
The White Sox sign Linebrink while no improvements have been made to our pitching. Get to it, Omar...
you NEVER should sign a non-dominant closer to a multi-year deal. Look at our great 2006 bullpen, in which Chard Bradford was a huge contributor. The Orioles then signed Bradford to a three year deal, which bradford has failed to live up to. There's too mcuh unpredictability in relievers to give a non-closer big money.
Mets purchase right-handed reliever Stokes from Rays http://newyork.mets.mlb.com/news/ar...t_id=2313055&vkey=news_nym&fext=.jsp&c_id=nym What an acquisition by the Mets
He's essentially a prospect. Whatever. ESPN is reporting we are in the Santana discussions, so there you go.
Thats a bit misleading. He doesnt have control issues. What he does have is an exceptional straight ball that goes over the heart of the plate in the late innings of tight ball games which usually leads to game winning home runs. Maybe that is some type of control issues. hmy:
So if that's the case why bother making the trade? If Estrada isn't the catcher, you got nothing for Mota. That sucks right there. I wonder who they might have in mind?
