Guys like McFadden can make an average line look very good. Clemens best friend will be a gamebreaker like McFadden

a franchise RB can change a team faster than anything--rebuild the OL and DL with the later picks--and don't draft a TE or kicker

That total BS. Let's look at the 1990's. The Lions draft Sanders and the Cowboys draft Smith. Which team performed better and why?? Dallas had the best OL in the game and Smith was surrounded by talent. Sanders had no help. The game is won in the trenches, not with the skill players.

Look at the game Manning had tonight without his OL. Case closed.

Plus there have been more first round RB busts than any other position. You want a list? Look at the first round over the past 20 years and 2 out of 3 RBs are complete busts. The Jets need to build a defense. RB is not a priority.

I agree that the defense MUST be addressed, but we may sign some guys in Free agency PLUS we still have 6-7 picks after the first rounder...

I am not a huge fan of taking McFadden, but you can't deny the instant big play capability he would bring to our offense.

theres bust at every position . some would say d brick hasnt perform to #4 ovr worthy level. so why take another olineman that high? cause d brick and that other Olineman are different people. so if your scared of drafting bust you might as well not draft at all.

We spent our 2 first picks in 2006 on the offensive line and our 2 first picks in 2007 on the defense. Can the offense get some friggin' talent please?

If the Patriots draft McFadden, I will honestly vomit. That guy will haunt us for years.

    count me in as well.

i don?t get why so many still have to say only one thing about McFadden: "We need beef!". There is no beef worth taking in the first. And trading down is highly unlikely (see my thread in the draft forum). The only opion left is going BPA! And there?s no doubt about who the best player is.

this was a great post, btw:

I'm not a big college football guy, so I don't know much about the top prospects, but is there a reason why Glenn Dorsey isn't the hot commodity in the draft for us?

first of all, i think the Rams will get him, if they can. If they pick before us, he probably won?t be around.

2nd thing is, he?s too small to play NT, so we would use him as a DE. And drafting a guy in the top 5 of who we don?t know if he can even play the position we draft him to play is way too risky. He?s a typical 43 DT.

  19. Wha?

The rams still have Stephen Jackson who is making a boatload of money.
