Personally, just as I think it's almost irrelevant how well Chad was playing when it came to making the QB change, I think it's obvious that Coleman is a JAG, nothing wrong with him, but he's nothing special. Elam has some ability. With experience, maybe he can be a nice safety playmaker. You never know until you try. This season should be about evaluating our young talent now.

Bingo. That's the point we're at. This one's in the books. All we're looking at now is our draft spot. Might as well see what we have before then.

Just because you see him nailing guys here and there after longer runs, doesn't mean he's playing well.... Re-watch the game (although I'm not sure if you could see it on TV, I spent a lot of time watching him when I was at the game)

I haven't seen him even get close to breaking up a pass play in 2 games, except for the blunder yesterday...

Not to mention he CONSISTENTLY overruns running plays.... I don't like it....

If you're going to be aggressive, do it how Revis does it, under control and swiftly... You'll get burnt here and there, but only when the offense makes a great play...

This kid is doing it with reckless abandon, and it's a wonder that he hasn't been burnt more, on PA passes and cut-back runs....

From our seats @ the game it looked like the receiver stole the ball after a collision from Elam so it was obvious. When they showed it on the screen again we all just looked at each other as if to say Typical.

Typical of how sad this defense is and that they have lost all their fundamental skills including Tackling 101.

You can spew all the "we need character guys" if you're winning games.

When you're 1-7 and on the road to a top 5 pick, its a lot tougher to speak from a position of moral superiority :) We've missed out on some guys for no particular reason.

As for Elam, all he can really do is go 100 mph and run at a player (basically what Beamen said). I don't like his coverage skills and he has whiffed badly on some tackles. If we are thinking about trading down in the draft, I would absolutely think about Kenny Phillips at some point.

Actually that's been the whole leagues problem. And I'd like to see something done about it. I don't know what exactly, maybe no more shoulder tackling. But there is a huge problem with defenses not tackling properly that are leading to poor play as well as unnecessary injuries.

Elam is Roy Williams without the talent, and it's playing guys like this, as opposed to the QB controversey that makes me really wonder about Mangini. In his first year, his message was clear. Now, he starts whomever, reckless players who are undicsiplined like Elam, as opposed to the whole "smart player" schtick he was preaching last year.

I mean he had Miller on the pine last year because he wasn't disciplined, but this Elam is just fine to start now? no small wonder the players are in WTF mode. Mangini came in knowing who he was, and what he wanted for a team. Now, he looks like a Captain with no rudder steering the ship.

Mangini is floating around without direction now, and it is apparent in what the players are saying and what is happening on the field every Sunday. Geeze, after last year I thought this guy was focused and had direction. Now, he seems confused and misdirected. This long leash Mangini had may get very short by next year. He had better get his act back together, and soon.

Did you watch the game or the replay I linked to? Revis was on his hip, and had 2 hands on the ball.

Again! Without the bogus 'simultaneous catch' call, and this idiot Elam being on the field, Revis has 4 picks in two games...

I want to watch him overrunning the plays and stuff, unfortunately we usually miss that on TV. I don't know why Eric Smith isn't playing. T-Bird's post about Mangini scares me, it's too correct.

the difference between Elam and Miller is that they had better players to start over Miller; whereas they don't have anyone better than Elam. Coleman is garbage, and Smith has shown signs but also misses some tackles

bills fan here....that should have been a pick..it was a horribley underthrown pass...that would have been picked off by revis, if his own saftey didnt collide with him...i almost wish it was picked off...that one play has stirred up yet another qb controversy....Now a lot of people want to go back to jp....ridiculous if you ask me...it was a lucky bomb...i dont see how that can win your job back....anyway good luck with the rest of the year, and clemens...i think he will be the best choice for your team...penny flat out sucks....i swear that guy doesnt throw passes over 10 yards...ever...peace out
