Eric Mangini's secretive nature with the press...
    No injury details..
Players cannot speak up for themselves...
Trying to mold a franchise after the Patriots...who have since altered their image..
Playing tough with draft picks...Revis' contract, after all that BS, is a four-year deal...lol..
    Pete Kendall any one?
Playing the 3-4 without the personel...
Stingy with free agent money...Kassell, Kimo, Chatham...yay.
This is not the White House. Who wants to root for a team that runs the franchise like Bush and Cheney wannabees?
I loved Mangini last year, but we were winning. Winning cures all things. But we as fans have a right to be pissed about the embarassment this year has become.

I agree. Tired of not being able to learn anything about the team during the season. EVERYTHING is a secret.

We learned one very important detail - they are poorly coached.

Yes, loose lips sink ships, but there is a limit to what a team witholds. What about the Colts last year...the Steelers the year before that. Yes, the Patriots are a model franchise - who wouldn't want three Super Bowls with a fourth possibly on the way?
    But WE ARE THE JETS....
Mangini needs to carve his own niche. He's already burned the Belicheck bridge, at least for now, so why try to emulate that bastard. He's good because he's mastered how to win in this error, the salary cap era.
But where in that book does it say to spend 20 million on Kenyon Coleman and more millions on signing career backups and special team studs? I let those signings slide because, per the media, this was how to build the Patriots model...how sweet, to become like your enemy. Not one of our recent free agent signings have panned out. The Patriots have since moved on - they are adding chips to an already established franchise - Harrison, Adalius, Moss, Welker....their old model is in the rear-view mirror.
The Jets are trying to duplicate something that worked in 2002-04....
Again, this isn't about the Patriots...we the fans believe that...but I don't think our Front Office can say the same.

It can go on for half a decade, like the Jets in the mid 70's and early 90's.

Five years from now we will be talking about Mangini blowing the 2008 draft and setting us back five years because if it!

This bad losing season may be the best thing for us. It was clear last year and really clear this year that we do not have the horsepower to compete. We need players. Big time players in key spots. You cannot get the multitude of players we need by drafting in the 20's. Somehow, someway, we need to come out of the first two rounds with at least 4 players and then go from there.

Yes, the coaching this year is questionable but I can live with that this year. What the hell, 37 years of this and I still have hope.

How confident are you with the FO in the offseason?
    Kassell - special teams
    Chatham - SP
    Barnes- SP
    Coleman - any sacks yet
    Bowens - not sure
    Kimo - cut
    Tutt - SP
    Hicks - SP
    Dyson - Doghouse
Thomas Jones, who I like on a win-know team, is the exception.

I have no confidence at all in this management team's ability to bring in talent in the offseason.

If they wanted to do the Andre Wadsworth thing they had to be successful with it. Failing immediately afterwards makes them look like clueless assclowns.

Please explain your understanding of contract negotiations for a first round draft pick, and what were the real behind-closed-doors sticking points with the Revis deal. I would like to LOL as well.

That was just an ignorant post. Trading up in the 07 draft wasn't smart in my book, but their draft record so far is as good as you can ask for.

True... Right now, the only thing I approve of with this regime, is their drafting... Other than that, they're pretty much doing every thing they can to sink this ship

    Per Rich Cimini, October 24.

ROOKIE MISTAKE? During Revis' contract dispute over the summer, the Jets demanded a six-year deal. They got what they wanted, but that six-year contract has shrunk to four years, the Daily News has learned.

The rookie cornerback already has logged enough action to hit a 35% playing-time incentive, voiding the final two years. It's now a four-year, $16 million contract. The Jets are prohibited from using the transition or franchise tag in 2011, meaning they will have to spend at least another $14 million to buy back the last two years.

It will be a major setback, financially and otherwise, if the Jets are wrong about Revis. So far, he looks like the real deal, but he's still looking for his first interception.

"I'm getting my hands on a lot of balls," he said. "Sooner or later, I'll get an interception and try to make a good play out of that."

Quoting a RICH CIMINI article isn't really an answer, unless it's your final answer. Do you lock that in? Can I laugh now?
