When the opposing defense knows that the dump offs are coming, they stop them. When they stop them, the Jets defense comes on. When you face a strong offense (especially one like Cincy's) the defense will get tired. When you get tired, you give up points. It has happened all year long. The first half, the defense played great. It was because we kept them off the field, and they weren't tired.

We are playing better teams this year and as bad as Cincinatti is they are better then the garbage we played last year.

    That's what I'm saying.

You are in the Bengals house and they put points on the board. You can't kicking three fields when you have an offense like the Bengals down. YOu can't have your last four drives(the hail-mary doesn't count) end with a
    three and out
    fumble
    three and out
    Int

    LOL

We all Know its Time to move on to Kellen , but please this had nothing to do with Chad. Especially that Sack before the Int -- Fricking Marino or Peyton manning would have went down on that play absolutely no time.

Our defense made this guy Walker , I dont even know his first name look liked the second coming of Jim Brown. ( Edit - I even got his last name wrong it was Watson wasnt it)
And Our O Line Still Cant Run Block for anything.

Yes we need to play Clemens to see if we need to draft a QB with our high first rounder , but if anyone thinks we are going to win more than 2 more games reagrdless of who QB's this team is smoking crack.

chad has heart, you could tell from that play where he ran for the first down. he looked like a guy playing to keep his job. But however it looks his time is up. Even if you put Clemens in, hes probably not guna change anything since he doesnt play defense........

Um, did you not see Thomas Jones rock the Eagles defense (which has always been a strong run stopping defense) last week? We can get the running game going, but when the opposing defense is 8 in the box, it's hard to develop.

We will NOT use our first rounder on a QB. Clemens will get this year and next to prove it, and possibly the year after, to show what he has. This year HAS to be a d-lineman

    I'll go with weeks 4, 5, and 6 for $1000 Alex.

I think Chad played fine today. The defense lost this game for us.

But, the season is over, and Chad did suck when the pressure was on (down by 8). It's time to move on. Hopefully Clemens has what it takes to be our QB because having to draft another QB will set us back quite a bit.

Good example of how to show football ignorance.

His job is to make that pass and the line's job is to block there, he has to look down field because if he scrambles the play is fucked. Most QBs are not Michael Vick, and when you are trying to gain large amounts of yardage and dont have a dump-off receiver, you stand there and try to make the play.

To try and boil the game down to that is ludicrous, because the offense gave the team a greatlead and a great halftime advantage and the defence fucked the offence up the ass in the second half, so get your god damned head on straight.

chad's job was safe until the pick. thats the same ball that he has thrown in his last three chances to drive down the field and win in the 4th quarter. he really had a good game up until that point, but these gamekillers that he has thrown the past 3 weeks are inexcuseable. chad will be missed.

I can live with the way he went out today, showed he can still be effective QB in this league. The NYJ just sucks ass, I can't even stand to watch them anymore, defense is a joke. They make backup players look like superstars, CB's are morons, thanks Revis, 14 points. oh well time to find something else to do on Sundays.

The Offense gave the Jets the Lead??? I though the O and D gave the team that lead. But again, the Bengals D is the weakness of there team not the O. So if the jets are up 13, what Q B worth his salt can't hold on to the ball long enough of a 18 minute that the bengals don't have time to score 21 points????

You just watched one. A three and out, A fumble. A THREE AND OUT. AND A INT..............LOL.

lets put it this way if we actually had a defense like the patriots or an ok defense at least, we'd be over .500 or at least .500 and we would not be having a qb controversy.

This is why you can't be taken seriously. Our D did suck today and cost us the game but it was the D that took it from the O.

After the Jets drove for a FG the Bengals went on a 7 and a half minute TD drive to make the score 23 17. The Jets 3 and outed for 7 yards and put the D right back on the field in 1 and a half minutes. A tired Jets D went out and gave up the go ahead TD, it's now 24 23 and our D has been on the field for the entire 3rd Quarter. What do we do 3 and a half minutes and fumble followed by 3 plays and punt followed by 6 plays and a pick 6.

Our D is atrocious but our O against a D that teams average over 35 points against again did nothing to keep them off the field in the second half. Once the game got tight Pennington reverted to keeping every pass in front of their D leading to a pick 6 game over.

Lets not actually fix the problem, the defense, but instead lets blame Chad Pennington because it's easier to blame one person than a whole group of defensive players.

If we had a QB like the Pats we would be .500. But What's the point of saying that???

This is Football, and you lean on your strengths in football. If the time management QB can't manage the last 18 minutes of the game with a 13 point lead then he is worthless. The Defense helped us get to a point were the TIME F***IN MANAGEMENT GOD CHAD PENNINGTON SHOULD HAVE WON THE F***ING GAME.

That's the point, saying that if we had the steel curtain as a D we would have is subterfuge.

Just put Kellen in and get it over with. Next year draft a real NT - a pass rusher might be nice too. See ya Chad - it's been real.
