Jets Shows on SNY: Open Mic wit Eric Mangini - Monday & Wednesday @ 4:30 Jets Extra Point - Tuesday @ 6:30 1st & Goal w/ Mike T - Thursday @ 6:30 Jets Post Game - IOmmediately following the game
Mangini is at the mike now: Question: Michael Vick has expressed interest in coming to the Jets after his jail time. Are you considering him? Mangini: All options are on the table and we'd like to consult our resident veterinarian. Question: Chad Pennington... if he throws a couple of INTs in this week's game, is he gone? Mangini: Gone is an indefinite term. We prefer consistency, as in "Going... going...." That's the kind of consistency we're looking for. If I said, "Going, going... gone," that wouldn't be consistent. Question: In last week's game you were on the 4-yard line with 3 downs left. What happened? Mangini: That's the kind of consistency we're looking for. We like to put ourselves in the best position to win. Obviously, with more downs in front of you, you've got more opportunities to win. Question: But this sounds like jibberish! When do we get some answers? Mangini: Your questions aren't consistent enough, that's why there's no follow-through. Consistency is the key... you should try it sometime. Question: Yeah, well, you're at 1-5 now. What's the story here? Mangini: The story is, we're taking the same approach... consistency. If you're consistently losing, you want to be more consistent, not less consistent. Consistency is the key. Question: Yeah, well, I can see I'm not getting anywhere with this so I might as well change the subject. How's Artie Bucco's food over at Vesuvio's? Mangini: We don't talk about those things, but obviously, we're looking for consistency.
What part of "Mike T" did you find so difficult to understand? Yes . . . I know . . . he says the same stuff.
I didn't even hear one word about Chad Pennington... He should be the topic of decision, it is obvious that the Jets asked them to not talk about him. They usually have that thing where they bring the camera onto the streets but this week they only ask for questions from there producers. They probably did go on the streets to ask the fans but it was probably all on Chad Pennington.
