I am bidding on an authentic Vilma on eBay but I can't tell if it is legit and I figure a few of you probably have an authentic Vilma so maybe you can help me out. The guy has mainly positive feedback but his has 9 negatives in the last 6 months from people complaining that the jersey they got was not the one advertised, or that the stitiching looks crappy like they did it themself. Anyways here's the link, please take a look and please don't move this thread right away..... http://cgi.ebay.ca/AUTHENTIC-Reebok...781784706QQcategoryZ24967QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I can tell by the sides. I can tell by the sleeves. Stripes. The numbers. The name plate is a joke. And with authentic the back doesn't comes down lower than the front.
OK then I will take your advice....what was that antiques roadshow comment??? And how would the person get a blank jersey and then acquire the numbers, logos etc from?
What? What blanks? It's just some knock off jersey that was made in China or El Salvador or somthing. The real authentics are made in Korea.
Oh I see. So basically they get blanks and numbers and just assemble them themselves in North American instead of in the Korean sweatshops.....at least they get some decent working conditions whil eht eput together their knockoffs.... Anyways unfortunately I have already bid on it so if I win I am gonna have to take the negative feedback. Is it safe at all to bid on authentics on ebay? Should I run them by you if I am thinkin about bidding on another one? Seriously....
Dino and others are right, mega-fake. Is his address in Hong Kong? You should report the bum for selling fakes.
The address is in Ottawa, so thats why I thought it would be OK.....its so hard to tell from a pictures, especially the ones he provides....
The problem is that the actual jersey is authentic, meaning that it is made of the same material as the ones worn on the field. BUT, the lettering was done by someone with an etch-a-sketch and a bottle of Jack.
No need to fear wonder dog is here. Although you went by the wrong method of bidding. ( biddding then questioning its authenticity) You can walk away from all this without any reprocussions, simply go to help type retract bid, or simply email the seller tell him hes selling knockoffs and your going to contact ebay unless he cancels your bid. Either way you cant lose.
Back off on your max bid so you cap off at where you are. Some douche will definately out-bid you with over 7 hrs. to go. The seller may get on as a fake bidder and bump it up himself.
Wrong the entire Jersey is fake, everything on that Jersey is made by a third party. They sell in warehouses, swap shops etc. There really cheap also , retail is somewhere around 10, 15 dollars, then he sells for more and makes profit. Cant hate his hussle though.
I haven't bought a Jets authetic on ebay in a long time. It's getting hard to tell what's real and what's not. Then people can lie and show false pics and then send you somthing else. But this jeresy is made of replica crap with sewn numbers on it.
I guess I am just gonna see if I win or not, and then if I win I will take the repurcussions, I don't care if they suspend me, I don't use ebay that much anyways. Where I am there is nowhere to get an authentic Vilma. I guess to be safe I'd have to order one from nfl.com.
