I got a better idea - lets bench the piece of garbage quarterback quartersack we currently have making a fool of all of us with someone even closely competent of being a quarterback in the NFL and actually use whatever runningbacks we have for what they are supposed to be used for…running the god damn football instead of blocking for a three yard out to the other teams defense? No one should be traded…only one person should be FIRED right now… WTF – does Donald trump or the originator…Vince McMahon have to come in to deliver the message? Chadn….YOUR FIIIIIIIIRED.
Why would they do this when they already have the cadillac under a big contract? Also, this would absolutely KILL our cap.
This thread is ridiculous. Why not trade Coles and Cotch while your at it, we'd sure have an awesome offensive line.
Hey this is a great idea, can we trade the cap hit along with him because I'd like to not have to deal with the rest of his guaranteed money for the next three or four seasons while we're trying to acquire the blockers that'll make him a decent trade and the nose tackle that'll help improve the defense.
Unfortunately the rules of this forum don't allow me to say what I really feel about this thread, or 98% of the threads in the NYJ Forum... get a clue people....thats all i'm gonna say
It ends on Tuesday, 10/16. I don't think we'll see any trades of note unless the Buccaneers or Packers get desperate for a RB and make a trade for Mike Bell, Mewelde Moore, Justin Fargas, or Michael Turner.
It's all about the offensive (and defensive lines). And if you don't understand that, than you don't know shit. Belichick handed Tannenbaum and Mangini a blueprint of what they needed to do last January in the wild card game. The Jets were blown off both sides of the ball. There was no question that the 2007 off-season needed to be about lineman, first and foremost, yet, Tannenbaum somehow failed to grasp where his team was grossly deficient. You want to get cute and talk about trading Cotchery and Coles, go ahead. I can make the argument that exchanging those two gamers for a blue chip guard and tackle actually would make sense. Everybody's focusing on Moss, Stallworth, and Welker have done for the Pats offense, but the fact is, Brady was thisclose to going back to the Super Bowl with a bunch of 3rd stringers last year. Why? Because of the unbelievable play of his front wall. Those guys are the ones that I watch. Forget about Moss' amazing athleticism. The ballet of the Patriots offensive line is really where it's all happening. Those guys move in perfect sync, double teaming where they need to, coming off and helping out just the right time when somebody's breaking through. Brady is sitting for 7, 8 seconds and doesn't even have to move in the pocket. With a great line, and middle of the road receivers and backs, the Pats almost went to the Super Bowl. With a crappy line, and terrific skill players (Coles, Cotch, and Jones), the Jets can't do anything. And don't talk to me about the difference between Brady and Chad. Sure, Brady's alltime, but Chad's been a great player for the Jets. Every year that's he's not suffered a season-ending injury, he's taken the Jets to the playoffs. He's taken the Jets to the tourney 3 times under three different offensive coordinators. If that doesn't impress you than you shouldn't be a Jets fan because that's better than Namath, Todd, or Vinny ever did. All you hipocrits who are calling Pennington dogshit should remember who it was that had you dancing on the couch at the end of 2002 and 2004 seasons.
I don't think trading up for any player by a team with lines playing as poorly as ours were last season is a good move. I really like Revis, and I defended the pick, but not the trade-up. Especially 2 trade-ups in the first 2 rounds.
no way we trade tj, that is just ridiculous, trading tj bc our oline cant run block a wet fart is like saying trade coles bc penny cant throw a deep ball, its just ridiculous, rome wasnt built in a day and neither will our oline, tangini understands the importence, hence the the 2 1st rd olinemen taken, they didnt wanna set a bad precedent by giving into kendall which i dont agree with but i understand, u build thru the draft and a free agent occasionally, this oline will become good, and when it does tj will be a star on this team, it also hurts him that he doesnt get a chance to wear down the defense with his physicality bc we are alwyas playing from behind/our playcalling is pretty predictable (anyone else see that 8yd stat randy cross pointed out?)
its true, but we got tj for very cheap considering his track record, and alothough he is not a youngster by rb standards he did see very limited action his first few yrs and mileage on a rb is a better tell then age imho
Alan Faneca is most likely available after the season. He'd immediately upgrade your line. Sure you'll have stiff competition from Arizona which has the coaches he likes but...he will be out there.
More likely it will be Chester Taylor then any of them. He's a proven starter who is just collecting dust.
Although we got Thomas Jones for practically nothing, you can't trade him. We got him for a reason. Jones and Leon are a nice mix to have.
Taylor is still the starter there. He missed 2.5 games due to a hip injury. Moore is indeed the guy who Minnesota would trade.
This CS is not dedicated to establishing the running game. Until they dedicate themselves (Schotty) it doesn't matter who you put back there. Hopefully it starts today or it will be another long afternoon.
