I would send him to Carolina for a @ #1 Asap. I would love to hear Steve Smith b**ch about being underthrown every week.

I think the real question is, "Would anyone trade for Pennington?"

And the answer is most likely no.

Chad would be a valuable backup for us right now. I would not trade him this year.

Chad as a commodity I would imagine does not hold a lot of value , therefore he might be a better asset as a backup/QB coach which I think he has the smarts to do very well at. The player that I would like to see traded IF we persist on this 3-4 fantasy D is Vilma. HE just does not fit in any shape or form.

After thinking about it the person I would trade would be Vilma. He likely has a hefty trade value ATM. And ATM he is not worth much in our defense.

To be frank about it - the guy is way to blockable for a MLB. I am growing tired of watching him get caught up in the back wash or just plain being out of position on running plays. We can do better.

After June 1st and until Dec 31st you have the option of splitting the cap hit over the current season and the following season. Chad's cap hit would be much easier to absorb now than it would in March when the Jets need to pay him another roster bonus.

From a logistical point of view I think trading Pennington would make sense as far as value goes, but since the CS hasn't bothered to see what they have in Clemens past Baltimore, I doubt it's even a possibility.

Junc you are so smart when not talking about the Yankees :) I agree with you 1000 % on this post.

People way overestimate what we would get for guys in large part becuase the Redskins are quite stupid with the way they throw around draft picks. Although we're the ones coming away with egg on our face after the Kendall debacle.

That is the way it is perceived, I don't see it though. We are aq shitty team with or without Kendall, we are a shitty OL with or without Kendall. At least now we are a shitty team and shitty OL with an extra 4th round pick in the next draft.

Yes, if we could get a difference-making defensive player for him. With his performance we can't, so it doesn't matter.

I would also probably take a second-rounder, but I don't think it is realistic because of his play the last few weeks.

I was thinking the Jets could get a 2nd round pick for Chad, if the team that traded for him was in dire need of a QB.

Especially if that player is riding the bench.

Chad will never embrace that role for the Jets. Maybe some other team, but not the Jets.

    Not bad Chad

Trading Chad is not going to do the trick. He moves the ball. The problem is you can't put him on the field with a 10 point deficit and a minute and a half on the clock and then say, "OK, Chad, you better perform a miracle." The Jets problem is on the other side of the ball. What they need now is some kind of John Abraham guy to help out Vilma. Two more sacks, one more pick and a turnover in anyone of those losses (except the Patriots) and we win. Really, the mistake was probably wasting all that mula on Thomas Jones. Houston & Washington was just as good a combo. They should have picked up a linebacker instead.
