That may be true for other positions, but the QB must have stability, you should know that. Chad earned the job last year, taking that POS team (now we see how bad they are) to 10-6 and the playoffs, please, he earned that shit. You cannot play QB shuffle in the NFL, once a change is made, that's it, there is no going back, it affects the team for years to come, so pardon him for taking the time to make such a drastic decision. At 1-4 you might want to see if CP is just in a funk, or if he is really done. If it's the latter, good luck trying to trade him.

Looks like Testaverde will start for Carolina this week after 3 days of practice. Wanna bet who has the better game?

It's not QB shuffle if the change is made, permanently in TC.... Pronouncing Chad the starter just weeks after last season ended was foolish....

It's open competition. IF Mangini is the coach he says he is, every postition should be open every year in TC... I don't care if it's Clemens, or even Brad Smith, or an undrafted FA QB, whoever performs the best, and shows they give they team the best chance to win, should be the QB...

And that goes for every other position as well....

Many people noted that Clemens outplayed Chad by a good margin in TC, and then he followed up by outperforming him by a MILE in preseason....

Sticking with Chad for the regular season opener was blind loyalty, and it's come back to bite Mangini in the ass

that maybe true BUT they give Chad the starting job for some reason. So it could only mean 2 things. That Chad better then Kellen or Eric don't know what he doing. Now u pick one?

I think we could get a 1st rd pick for Chad. Especially if Herm wants him.

There is absolutely no way that we are getting a first rounder for Chad...

Absolutely no chance....maybe a second but I even doubt that. And KC? The going rate for stealing a HC is a second round pick, we got a 4th for Edwards. From KC we would probably get a 7th for Pennington.

They should have traded him to Carolina before Vinnie signed. Just imagine how happy that would have made Steve Smith to have rocket arm there.

The question is who wants Pennington? I know there are some really bad quarterbacks situations in the league like Chicago, but do they really want a guy who can't through the football with any serious velocity?

In the NFL, unwritten rule, you just do not do that. How many teams changes QB's each offseason? Once your the starter, thats it, game over. Look how long the Texans stuck with Carr, everyone got blamed but him, now we see he was the problem. I am kind of playing devils advocate, I do want to see what KC can do, but at the same time, set him up to be successful, the bye week you basically get 2 weeks to get him ready.

As odd as it sounds, I like what Mangini is doing, he is not going to let CP be the scapegoat for this team. This team has way to many issues to point the finger at one player. A change is coming, but it will be on Mangini's terms and no one else's.

Oh get off this already you do not need a gunslinger to win games or a SB, NFL history has shown this. Does it help yes, is it a must, No. If your QB's arm constantly has to bail you out, then you team has other issues. There are a handful of teams that need a QB to just manage the game, as mentioned, the Bears, Ravens, Vikes etc, anyone with a good defense and a good running game. The Jets have neither and that is why CP is being exposed. Last year's defense kept people from scoring, so yeah 17-24 points cut it, this year, we need 30+ just to have a chance to win. Sad.
