It's easy to figure out why our defense stinks. Our defense spends all training camp and every practice watching Pennington throw lolipops. Then they play any QB with a real NFL arm on Sunday and the ball is moving too fast for them. The run defense practices all week against the likes of Adrien Clarke and Anthony Clement and get used to holding the line. On Sunday a "real" NFL offensive line shreds them. This is a joke, people. I live in a tiny midwestern state, and there is high school SOPHMORE that I watch on Friday nights that can throw the ball with more zip than Pennington. Don't just bench him, cut him. Wayne Chrebet hung around for YEARS after he lost a step (actually several) and jets weren't smart enough to release him. How many more games will we watch Chad telegraph his lobs to the WRs? Coles and Cotch have time to write their will waiting for Chad's throw to finally get to them while the DBs tee off. Get a brain, Mangini.
Yeah, that's why every team in the NFL gains 150 yards RUSHING against the defense and why there is no pass rush at all and why the defense can't tackle and why they get pushed all over the field and why Dyson tries to tackle Burris by the shoulders etc etc. Great post. Very insightful. We all know that Pennington is likely done as the starter and many Pennington supporters like me have admitted that today. But people like you still feel the need to go way overboard. I guess having Pennington in training camp is also causing Nugent to miss FGs????? Come on. This team stinks. Pennington should be pulled, but that does not excuse a defense that can't stop anybody and horrible play calling by the OC.

Actually, the biggest problem with our D is that nobody can tackle. Reeves had a chance to rip Eli's head off and he let him by with a love tap while he dove for a first down. That play lead to a 98 yard TD Drive. There is no killer instinct there. Same with Dyson (why is he still allowed on the field) on Burress long score. Watch the tape, on EVERY BIG PLAY by the Giants, we had them in the backfield or for a short gain but simply couldn't bring them down. Pathetic is the best word to describe how they are playing at this point in time.
