yeah I know... I was just talking about the attitude of most owners being a bit more patient these days... I just think Mangini isn't going anywhere next year regardless
I think they are less patient these days. I could take some time and look at how many different head coaches each team employed decade-by-decade. If Mangini gets the Jets to 4-12 or better, he has a good chance to stay, in large part because I don't think Johnson is a proactive owner. If the Jets go 3-13 or worse, I think his job is in jeopardy. Not too long ago a rookie head coach took a team to a Super Bowl and had a miserable second season and was gone.
This team will win 5 to 7 games. This team didn't give up today they fought hard all game and they have some very good players.
IMO the game changed with Dysons shitty play againt Plex. After that it was all down hill , or maybe im just drunk. Do i want to see a change? Whatever at this point. I know Chad isnt the future. Will we see one? Not with Eric Edwards calling the shots......
I'm thinking 5-11 myself and that Mangini comes back for year 3, but I am saying that if 3-13 or worse...
Chad single handedly changed the entire game with that INT off his back foot, up by 3 and in FG range... Get him off the field.
I suppose you could say that play was the game changer. I found Pennington's second INT to be just as awful. I have major issues with Pennington's second interception, the matador defense displayed by Dyson, and the final 23 seconds of the 1st half. The Jets were at the 29 or 30 yard line with 23 seconds on the clock and a timeout. They called a run and then settled for a long field goal attempt. What?!!!? That sequence really boggles my mind. I'm not sure Rich Kotite or Norv Turner would be that wussified there. Sure, they may have attempted a pass or two and would have had to settle for a FG anyway, but at least make an effort to score a TD there.
Mangini is staying because he is a good coach who took a team that wasnt very good and OVERACHIEVED BIG TIME. Its going to take time.
This is great her eis the start to our future. aquarterback who want to take a chance. Paul hackett i'm soory it wasn't you it was chad! Lets go clemens! Think about it we will ave a gret back-up!!!!!!! go jets!! stretch the field!!!!
First question: Where is junc? He should be frothing at the mouth by now. All I really want to addd to this is, its a good thing they still have CP at the helm. If they benched him 1,2,3 weeks ago there would have been a public outcry if KC failed. After seeing what noodle-arm is about, now maybe people will stop worrying about this year and develop a QB, A QB, not necessarily KC, but develop one for the next season or the one after. Delaying the on-the-job training at this point is counter productive. Its understandable that the line is horrendous at this point, but hell, give them an F'in break already, and start someone who can run for their life. Maybe if the ones that were out there didn't have to max-protect every F'in down, they could make things happen. I'm starting to lose my patience with Mangini.
junc dropped off with a minute left in the game after accusing us of all being happy about the results... I'm sure he's in a lab trying to compile pro chad stats somehow... I'm imagining a lot of bunson burners and bubbling beakers in the lab with him... the results should be fantastic
Who are they going to beat? Buffalo? Maybe. Miami in Miami? Maybe. I swear I don't see another game I think they can win on the schedule at the moment.
You know what? I think that is about the funniest thing I have ever heard in regards to junc and his OCD. Very good!
