As long as I have been watching the jets -- we have lost "this" game:

1979: Jets lose to the 0-5 Colts 10-8
1981: Jets lose to the 1-6 seahawks 19-3
1991: Jets lose to the 5-9 Pats 6-3

    There are many, many, more.
I took only years where the jets had a winning record.

and this is what pisses me off most. The Jets aren`t SUPPOSED to lose these kinds of games, but yet have done so time and time again. Pathetic franchise! PERIOD!

So did those games you listed put us at 1-3? If so, the odds are still against us....and with this schedule it's looking bleak.

    Don't forget 1980!

We were the only win for the 1-15 Saints!

I have been a fan since the 80's all I remember are a few brief seasons of joy followed by mostly sub 500 seasons. Everyone has gone through their periods, Dolphins with Marino, Bills with Kelly and co, and of course Brady and co. Maybe I am too young, but I do not recall any sustained success with this franchise.

It is aggrevating. I would love, well, all of us, to see the Jets come out and control a game from beginning to end, but it really never happens. When is the last time we actually blew out a time. Every week I say, well maybe this week they will be prepared and then we lose. I am tired of the excuses, good teams never have excuses. Unfriggen believable that I thought this year would be better.

I can remember a time 81-82, 85-86 when we could dominate teams. We beat the Bills 45-14 one year. And there were a couple of games Falcons in '85 (I think) and Seahawks in '86 where I sat back in amazment thinking "They can't stop us. We can do whatever we want against this team." But the good moments have been few and far between.

Right, that is true, even when Parcells was here there were a few.

In the 70's the Giants season ticket holders turned their backs on the team and burned their season tickets. Things started to change after that. Desperate times........

    Um...you're 30 short.

  12. The odds are on our side. Eventually we HAVE to have a window of actual success. if anything, this fanbase has been tormented so harshly...the football gods OWE it to us!

Well in 2002 we started 1-4 and had the three worst game stretch in jets history.

Last season we had losses to buffalo and cleveland and still made the playoffs.

Ya it sucks that we lost, but the season isnt over. 5 of the next 6 games are at the meadowlands.

I also remember three straight blowouts towards the end of Kotite's reign all by the same exact score if I remember I think 35-10....

To think the Jets have owned Green Bay and Minnesota over the years, it's pretty amazing if you think about it......

That 1981 Seattle loss was just a blip after the 0-3 start. The Jets won 10 of their final 13 games with a tie and both losses to Seattle. Seattle tormented the Walt Michaels teams.....

Very true. In 2002, we replaced our quarterback. In 2007, will we try the same thing? Not saying if we replace our quarterback that we'll have a big year, but it couldn't hurt at this point...

1998 - Dominant all year. Best year of Vinny's entire career.

2002 - Defeat at Chargers (Brees) 44-13 (never that close). at Detroit 31-14, Buffalo 31-13, at New England (Brady) 30-17, Green Bay (Favre) 42-17 (to make playoffs), Colts (Manning) 41-0 (win wildcard)

That's 6 blowouts in 10 consecutive weeks. Prior to all his injuries Penny was really good. I'm also really wanting the 4-3 defense back now...
