not one Paper criticized Chad for the loss. I swear he must by the reporters round trip tickets to the fiji islands or something. This is ridiculous. Honestly am so tired of this QB that is going to get our receivers killed and shorten their careers with his lolipop throws
Or maybe it was because it was a team loss... we sucked all the way around yesterday. There were few bright spots.
Does any of this? Chad was good overall, a lot of things lost us the game. To single out one guy is stupid, that's why professional beat reporters don't do it and idiots on the Internet do.
Didn't Cimini's blog mention the bad game versus stats from Pennington? Or was that something else I read?
Maybe they did not write that because it was not true. Many other factors contributed to the loss. MANY.
If he were missing open receivers all day and dropping snaps, yes. But he went 32-39 and moved the team for the most part. He made two bad throws, the D made about 50 bad plays, the kicker left 3 on the field after Chad did the fake-spike and completed a long pass. Even without the last pick the best we do is tie if Nugent makes the kick and we'd still have had to go to OT. The team lost.
The loss wasn't his fault, which is why. . Our D was awful, especially against the pass. Our offensive line was also bad.
How many times in a row did Edwards complete that same pattern, 10-15 yards downfield vs our right side? Horrible.
Hey let me take the opportunity to answer both pertinent questions for you: Absolutely nothing and absolutely not!
jklsahgfouwagfanfsjhbfaslidshafnsalfknsalfgaslfhsdbkfj That makes as much sense to me. I hate Monday lately!
When you get the ball on your own 20 with 1:56 to go you're supposed to be able to do more than move in range for a long FG. You're supposed to at least move into range for 2 dropped TD passes. I'll take that guy who got the drops in the endzone out of the team over Checkdown Chad any day.
Chad's been throwing TDs in the 2-minute drill all season. One drive didn't work out because we ran out of timeouts, it happens. You still don't bench your QB over it or trade him to Chicago in the middle of the season.
You're both right and wrong on this one, IMO. There were many reasons why we lost, but to say that Chad only made 2 bad throws is sugar coating it a lot. He relied far too much on where receivers were supposed to be, rather than on his eyes to tell him what the coverage and his receivers were doing. He hung receivers out to dry, his 10 yd + passes which normally float but have accuracy, were wobbly like I've rarely seen from him, and he checked down far too often to the backs and underneath routes. Those 2 INTs weren't simply bad throws. They were picks from the instant they left his hand. We know the D is bad, and the way Nugent missed was pretty telling. He's built a lot of leg strength this season, which leaves the potential for some mistakes early on in windy conditions. He compensated for the wind, but hit the kick harder than he would have last year. That's why it went off the upright instead of being carried inside. I wasn't surprised by the defense, but I was surprised by how poorly Chad looked.
Are you a QB? Any of you guys, are you NFL QBs? How do you know if he "checked down" to the right or wrong guy? He was 32-39, completed 15 in a row before the last pick, was moving us down field. You have to get first downs to keep the drive going, the D is playing back at that point in the game when you have one timeout. Once again, even without the last pick there's a very good chance we still lose the game.
Wrong Chad has directed ONE scoring drive that took less than 2 minutes this entire season, right before half-time against Miami... And that drive started at our 43 yard line, and still took 1:34.... Other than that, he hasn't even converted for a FG on a drive under 2 mins long this entire season.... That's right
Nice observations. I happen to completely agree. There were some passes yesterday that should have been dangling on the end of a noose they hung so long. He almost got Cotchery killed similar to Coles last year.
C'mon man - it's not hard to go 32 of 39 when the majority of your passes are under 10 yards. 32 of 39 means nothing to me because I watched the game and saw what kind of passes he was throwing. Running the two minute drill was so awful to watch when nearly every pass was a 2 yard dump to the running back. GROW SOME DAMN BALLS CHAD. This team sucks and there are a lot of things that need to improve. One of them is the QB. Make all the lame ass excuses you guys want. Chad is not the answer for the Jets.
He completed 32 of 39...... 27 of those completions were for less than 10 yards.... That is ABYSMUL... Not ONE winning QB from yesterday (that's right, including Joey Harrington and Trent Edwards) has a lower % of his completions go further than 10 yards..... You know why? Because when that is your passing game, you don't have a passing game, you have a risky running game..... And one-diminsional teams do NOT win ball games...
our kicker botched an easy field goal, Defensive backs cant cover no one, and when it comes down to the wire you need a QB who can throw deep. The O-line is steppin it up a bit. Chad played well minus the interceptions his completions were crazy good...bottemline with chad is that his arm is weak, if the run game was strong enough it could support chad and his gimpy arm but its isnt...all and all blame the coaching and team as a whole. Mangini isnt as great as most think he gave them heart last year, but now im seeing the same ol' jets
