Which means the jets can still finish at 13-3. All im saying is keep the faith guys and dont pack it in after the first four weeks.

No one is packing it in, we're all just really bummed after losing to what is one of the worst teams in football. Yes we still have 12 games to go, and I still believe the jets can do it, but it will take some serious changes. The defense has to improve, and Clemens should be the QB. The Jets have to go 9-3 down the stretch, or atleast 8-4, to have a shot.

ha ha ha ha.... you have got to be kidding!!! 13-3... more like 3-13, if we are lucky. We only play Miami one more time, so 2-14 ia more likely.

funny thing is, besides the colts and pats, the AFC teams are all playing mediocre right now. no one in afc west has 3 wins

I'm guessing you're either in your teens or early twenties?

Watch this franchise for another 20 years and then get back to me on that 13-3 and let's not panic after 4 games bullsh*t!

I'm pretty sure any playoff loss is worse than that - by far.

Doug Brien vs. The Steelers is the toughest loss for me in a long time.

The way we are playing, if Mangini doesn't change his gameplans, we will be 1-15! Giants, Eagles, Redskins & Cincinnati coming up will keep us looking up.

the opener in KC was not worse than the pitt game, but it was after that

i didnt think we would beat the pats in the playoffs last year, and i was happy with the season

    this game was an embarassment

Here's the bottom line with this franchise...

Every season we lose two or three games to teams we should beat...and every two or three years we beat a team we should lose to...

You do the math on that one.

my take for the rest of the season

    Giants - Win
Eagles - Loss (could go either way, we never beat them though)
Bengals - Loss (though they never seem to beat us in regular season)
    Buffalo - Win
    Washington - Win
    Pittsburgh - Loss
    Dallas - Loss
    Miami - Win
    Cleveland - Win
    New England - Loss
    Tennessee - Loss
Kansas City - Win (I'm sure they'll be fed up with Herm by then)

7-9, could be 8-8 with some breaks. We're not nearly as bad as some make us out to be.

Look at the rest of the schedule. Every team (except Miami and Philly) seem to be improving. And every team on the schedule (again except possibly Miami) has the potential to light up our defense like a Christmas tree.
And if the Fins throw Beck in the mix and Zach Thomas comes back healthy, who knows what they can do?

After the Giants performance tonight, they must be licking their chops just thinking about next week. Umenyora (sp?) got more sacks in 1 half than our whole D has on the season!

    13-3 ? No way....3-13 More likely

    Same Old Jets, Baby

now I'm not a huge sunshiner, but who's to say we won't improve either. Look at the Giants D the first two weeks of the season and look at them now. Like night and day. What...our D can't get better?

We're beating the Smurfs next week.

So... are you 21 or 22? I've never met anyone wherein I asked them their age and they said "oh, I'm 29 30" or "yeah I'm in the 33 to 34 range" -- you see some weird stuff on this board.

Anyway, that dude is right, you are optimisitic -- way too optimistic. You need to get your head checked one two times I think.

So you think that based on their current level of play we are capable of going on a 12 game winning streak? No chance at all of this happening - well virtually none. Odds 3,000,000 - 1.

Heck we wouild have to go 9 - 3 from here on in just to have a viable shot at the playoffs. That is not going to happen either.

Given our current level of play and factoring in that Chad will be eventually benched this year or injured again, I would say we get no more than 7 wins.

Bottom line: we are, clearly, not going to the playoffs this year.

How long was Mangini's original contract and did they ever extend it? For some reason it sticks in my mind that it was only 2 years.

Beat the Giants? Did you watch them last night? And we lost to Cleveland last year and they are clearly a better team this year. The rest I more or less agree with.
