Don't count on it, I kind of like it here. Oh, but I'm not crazy. Glad we were able to work it out in a fair trade for both clubs. Nice job by your front office holding our feet to the fire. By the way thanks for Abraham.
This is a horrible trade. Any one who endorses this is NUTS!!! Your talking about a premier Pass rusher and all we get is the 29th pick. Bullshit, I would've told Abe's agent to suck wind and have Abe report to Hempstead on time. A very bad start to the Tanny/Mangini era imho. Unless they plan to move up to #1 by packaging the 2 #1's and a 3rd to grab Bush or Lienart.
Man, I can't remember the last time outsiders gave props to our front office. In all honestly, I don't know how to react right now. This mix of emotions is brand new to me. I'm scared. :breakdance:
Me too, nice to have JA in the fold. We should have a nice pass rush with Abe, Kerney, and Coleman. God I can't wait for his first blind side hit on Delhomme, Simms, or Brees.
I can't get over how badly Denver hosed Atlanta. I mentioned the other day that I had heard Denver was looking to trade its first rounders for future picks because they can't afford to pay their draft choices this year, and that I thought Atlanta should've shipped their 2007 1st rounder and a 3rd rounder to Denver for #29 to give to us. I was close in Denver's involvement, but I had never guessed that they would look to move up. I see them going one of two ways with their picks now. Either they go RB and DE (White/Deangelo and Hali/Kiwanuka) or they pull a Ditka and basically trade their whole draft for 1 player (Super Mario). Unless of course they see the next Elway up there. Plummer is no spring chicken, nor is he that great either. Regardless, this is exactly what the doctor ordered for the Jets. 3 picks in the top 40 in a deep draft class and a ton of cap room greatly expedites the rebuilding process.
I ,like a reasonable Jets fan,am perfectly happy with the deal.I'm satisfied that the Jets got a first -rounder for a disgruntled player that everyone knew wanted out of NY. Last year nobody was willing to give a second rounder for Edgerrin James or Alexander.I know that might be comparing apples to oranges, but, given the situation, asking for more than what the Jets got for Abraham is unrealistic.
Can anyone tell me what are the "2 additional picks" the Broncos gave up along with their #29? Just curious. Forgive me, but I'm too lazy to skim through 10 pages of posts to see if it's already been said.
Awe- you are just mad that the Falcons came out okay in this deal. While, I'm glad that we got our 1st (originally I didn't think so), Atlanta didn't lose any players and Denver got the 15th spot.
We got ripped off in this deal. Abraham was well worth the 15th pick overall and they went and gave it to Denver and then we got Denver's pick? What the f@#k is that all about? We got screwed once again.
Thanks abunch. While I'm here, I might as well voice my shock at the negative reactions to this trade. How in hell can a Jets fan be disappointed in this? Because we didn't get the 15 overall in return? That wasn't even a possibility as the Falcons refused to offer that straight up. We'd have as good a chance as trading Abe straight up to the Texans for their #1. Tannenbaum managed to get back a 1st rounder (albeit a late one) for a disgruntled player who everyone in the league knew wanted out. Hell, he even refused to go to any other team but the Falcons, which left Tanny very little leverage in the whole matter. Considering the next option (which had little chance of happening) was shipping him off to Seattle for the 31st pick, this is a very good deal for Abe.
