as of 8:15 PM EST we dont know how the negotiations are doing --------BUTTTTTTTT if we should also land him, the jets dont need to draft D'Brickshore Furgeson with #4 pick and can trade #4 and #29 to saints for #2 and get Leinart What a great day Best OT in Runyan Best QB in Leinart good WR in Tim Dwight and when the compensation picks are announced in three weeks jets will really clean up we lost top stars ---McKenzie to NYG Jordan to Oak Becht to Tampa Ferguson to cowboys Toby Gowin to someone and acquired blaylock legree and gardner Compensation is calculated using value added vs value lost jets should get comp pick at end of 4th Rd --end of 5th Rd and end of 6th round
wow you make me sick. absoloutley disgusted . the 4th and 29th ???? for the 2. whats your beef ? No way man NO friggin way.
Gowin doesn't count, because he was cut, not a free agent. According to calculations done on another board (by a very good poster who does this every year with tremendous accuracy), we should get a 3rd rounder for Jordan, and then a 7th due to the value we lost compared to what we gained.
We wont get 4 compensation picks or whatever you have we added 3 players and lost 4 players so we only get one pick next week we will find out that other pick at the end of the 7th rnd is added if there are less that 32 comp picks added. Which will probably happen hopefully 29 arent added. They make it like there are 8 rnds.
To Stick With Chad after our 29th pick we have the 35th ---would the 35 and 4 be good for you to get the top QB?????
Comp picks Im not really sure how they are awarded --the jets lost 4 Starters ---Becht Ferguson Mckenzie and the best 12th man in jordan law was a good pick up --the rest were nfg exactly how the nfl figures it out i dont know ---but we should get a few more picks
Law doesn't count either, because the Patriots released him, he wasn't a free agent. Players that are signed as free agents are the only players that count when determining compensation picks, players that are signed that were released by their previous team do not factor into the compensation process.
Promising news on the Runyan front? Hes sticking around for a second day of visits. Jets | Team spending time with Runyan; no offer made yet Tue, 21 Mar 2006 19:23:44 -0800 Adam Caplan, of Pro Football News and Injury Report, reports free agent OT Jon Runyan (Eagles) had dinner with New York Jets officials Tuesday evening, March 21. Runyan is expected to spend the bulk of Wednesday, March 22, visiting with the team. No offer has been made as of Tuesday evening. Two day visits are always a good sign and while no offer has been made yet runyan is clearly not using us as leverage to better his deal with philly because he would have only needed to stick around for a day to accomplish that. Hopefully tangini can pull through on this one and we can be a perfect 2for2 in that last 2 days.
I would go three years for him as he's 33. If he signs, I guess this means Adrian Jones goes to left tackle.
well the good news is it seems to be between us and philly and the philly owner is a cheap bastard...
Tell me that you aren't being serious. I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you aren't actually calling Jon Runyan the best OT in football. In any case Runyan plays RT and D'Brickashaw is an LT. He's still a very legitimate possibility at pick #4.
Would love to see a line that has Ferguson at LT, Jones at LG, Kendall at C, Moore at RG and Runyan at RT. With either the late 1st or early second take either Mangold or Jean-Giles. Little concerned about taking a center that high and Jean-Giles weight issues, but would be excellent depth and be ready to start by '07. Jones was a TE in college and prided on having quick feet. I'm confident he would be able to make a transition to guard.
