I have been vocal in my support of starting Kellen now, and the fact that Chad is not the same QB he was in 2002, is extremely limited, hurts the team overall offensively, and gives us the best chance "not to lose" rather than win.

That said, the Buffalo game this weekend is one I am glad Chad is starting. For the record, I NEVER root against CHad, I root hard for every player on the Jets and for the Jets to win every game. I just think, rationally, it is time for CHad to move on.

But the Buffalo game is a game we "should win". A rookie QB, a really banged up team, and an 0-3 record are all signs of a team in deep trouble (though from what I hear Edwards is really impressive) Realistically, for us to win this game all we need to do is not make mistakes. And that is what Chad does best. Controlling the ball, and the clock and not turning it over, should be just the amount of rope that Buffalo needs to hang themselves and lose this game.

As much as I want to see Kellen out there, if he started this weekend we do have a slightly bigger chance to lose, though with Kellen we would have the ability to win bigger.

Now it is just my view, though, that the entire philosophy we use with Chad at the helm is great for games like Buffalo and other teams we should beat, but breaks down and is less effective the better the opponent we face, until when we face stronger playoff teams we are at a big disadvantage and ultimately that is why Kellen needs to start.

But Buffalo is a bad team, and the poster child team for a Chad win. For this week, I am glad Chad is starting. Chad will get us the victory.

Chad should win this game but it would not be shocking if we lost. It is his Forte to beat up bad teams. With that said be very afraid that the teams the Bills lost to are New England, Denver and Pittsburgh. To them we are lesser competition than they have faced all season and this should be their best chance to put a win on the board.

True words. I know a old timer Bills fan that epected an 0-3 start with the Jets game circled on his calander as their first win.

Chad actually has trouble with these types of games, because not since the end of the 2002 season has he been able to really destroy a team. Buffalo will likely never be down by more than 10 points, so they will always think they have a chance to win. A "punchers chance" if you will. Dangerous. Bear in mind they barely got a 1st down after their early TD, and ensuing loss of Losman, against the Pats.

Last week was the closest he's come in a long time to burying a team, and even then the defense failed him. The Bills are a bad team, and on paper, we should win by 14+ points.

Does week 1 or week 3 Chad show up. Does the defense show up at all? I think the performance this week will go a long way to deciding if the Jets go 6-10 (loss), 8-8 (narrow win), or 10-6 (blowout win).

Hope U R not be a cynic here but Cimini has some good work & thinks there lines are going to crush us. That spells big trouble for CP if Cimini is correct. Now you are not hoping for a CP injury here are U? Read Cimini blog in the Daily News

Ah guess you missed it then so here it is

But let me tell you something, tomorrow's game at the Ralph will be a dogfight. Here's why:

The Bills have a massive offensive line, averaging 332 pounds per man, and the Jets usually don't match up well against big, power teams. LT Jason Peters, the best tackle in the league that no one knows about, will collapse the right side of the Jets' defense. It's going to be a long day for DE Kenyon Coleman. The Bills also have a solid left guard, Derrick Dockery, who received a mega-free agent contract in the offseason. They also have an up-and-coming runner, Marshawn Lynch, who is averaging 4.0 per carry.

The Jets expect the Bills to pound the ball on the ground, especially with an inexperienced quarterback, Trent Edwards, who is replacing the injured J.P. Losman. First down will be key for the Jets. If they can get Edwards into passing situations, they win. If it's third-and-1 or third-and-2, it becomes advantage, Bills.

Of course, if the Jets sell out to stop the run, they could be in trouble. The Bills will max-protect, giving Edwards to use Jets killer Lee Evans (pictured) in the vertical passing game. The Jets don't have anyone who can cover Evans, who is due for a breakout game. Naturally, the Bills will try some screen passes. Why not? The way the Jets defend the screen, they'd probably get burned by Stony Brook University.

BTW I was in SA a day after the Miami game down on Commerce St then out by a hotel by the airport

And they are lesser then anyone we have faced too. You forgot that part. Especially with their current injuries.

So Cimini thinks the Bills are going to pound the ball with a backup QB?!?! NO WAY!!! And screen passes!?! I could never have guessed!

BTW, hope you enjoyed the construction in SA.

That's funny. I thought his best game was in 2004 against Seattle. 254 yards on only 24 attempts? 3 TDs with 0 INTs? A 23 point victory? Ratings-wise, it was his best game, even higher than the 02 Packers game. In terms of yards, his best game came last year against Minnesota. How exactly do you determine "destroying a team"?

Chad was as good in week 1 as he was in week 3. In fact, considering the competition and lack of any rushing or OL play, he may have been better in week 1.

Just ignore him. He can't tell the difference between "Chad" and "the entire team". I also didn't realize that one game could determine an entire season. It's amazing we even fielded a team after Week 1.

What does that have to do with Pennington? He's talking about their offensive line.

Chad looked terrible in week 1. I love Chad as much as the next guy, and yes the OL was fairly pitiful, but the fire he showed last week was the Chad I remember from 2002 and 2004. I didn't see that at all in week 1, nor did I see his trademark accuracy.

If we lose to Buffalo, considering their injuries and overall pitifullness, we will be lucky to win 6 games. If it's close, we'll be lucky to win 8 games. If we manage to blow them out, we can possibly start considering a wildcard berth. Since when are we not allowed to speculate? Should I IM you the next time I feel like making some predictions, and ask your permission?

Against a terrible team, Chad looked really good. Of course the rest of the team plays a role, but again, since when are we not allowed to critique the play of an individual player?

Clemens was horrible for 3 quarters in week 2, and shined in the 4th quarter. Am I not allowed to say that? Sorry, but I can tell the difference between a team sucking and individual players sucking. I also have the right to express my opinion, as you do yours. But if your opinion is so weak you need to resort to insults, why bother?

Johnnysd, so your saying you want Kellen to start and not Chad then for the Jets? Let me make sure I have this straight because the last 50 times I have read your posts I really didnt get it. Ahh but now, well now I think I have it. So you like Cha.....wait a minute, no you want Kellen to start, ok got it.

Could you create at least 20 more threads this season explaining the same reasons why you thinhk Chad is no good for the Jets? PLEASE????? Oh and make sure when and if we win on Sunday to get right on this forum and dog Chad but good. I mean I want to hear at least two more time about how he wins the games that he should win, and that Chad should have thrown for 400 yards etc... Oh and if by chance Chad does throw for 400 yards, be sure to explain that anyone could do that to Buffalo and that Chad played poorly anyway.

    I cant wait!!
