1. #4, #29 (from Broncos through Falcons for John Abraham) 2. #3 3. #7 4. #6, #20 (from Chiefs for Herman Edwards) 5. #5 7. #3, #9 (from Lions for McGraw) Total Picks: 9 No longer have: 6. [#4 (to Redskins for Patrick Ramsey)] If I am missing anything please let me know. I didn't include any of the comp. picks yet because none are official yet. I will add them as they become available.
Looking really, really good. This is shaping up to possibly be the best draft of the new millenium (barring 2000) for the NYJ.
Pretty sure that the Jets didnt give up the pick either. They did give up a pick in the Steve Morley trade though (6th or 7th rounder)
I'm not sure... if we did that would throw this whole chart off because then I wouldn't know which 6th was sent to the Skins for Ramsey... however I've seen several debates on this and it seems like no one really knows for sure. I haven't been able to find out to this point the cold hard facts of the matter.
9 picks for a new regime... this is gonna be what makes or breaks them. If they get this right, they'll be in good shapefor at least 4-5 years.
What was once a deplorable mess after the departure of Edwards is now, methodically, no longer a mess. There is still work to be done, but we all have got to be happy.
What I had read was that it was a 6th that would conditionally convert into something higher (a 5th?) if he made the team. So if he made the team, we would have given up a 5, but he didn't, so we gave up a 6. Geez, Bradway gave up a 6 for someone to play in training camp, and Tannenbaum gets Patrick Ramsey for a 6th! Quite a difference!
Dallas did receive a pick for Hunter. It was not conditional, if he made the team we would have had to give a higher pick. After the Ramsey trade, the article on the official Jets website stated (in the Ramsey announced article) that the Jets had 7 picks. Add the one for Abe, and that makes 8. So there is an extra pick in there somewhere, I believe the cowart pick was last year. http://www.newyorkjets.com/news/index.php?content_id=2592§ions_id=#2592 "......The acquisition of Ramsey leaves the Jets with seven selections in the 2006 NFL Draft."
Like many have said we didnt actually give up a pick to Dallas. Also, we do not have the #4 pick in each round as it rotates based on ties. For instance we have the #3 pick in round 2 and the #7 pick in round 3
We don't know what or how many compensation picks we will get yet... Either 2 or 3 probably... A trade down would also be great.
ur missin one we get one from oakland for lamont jordan i dont know why we do but i read it on a site we get a 4th rounder
I don't think it's the 4th pick with each round. The Jets pick #6 in the 3rd round, #5 in the 4th round. Check out the Huddle report under Draft Order - they have it set up nicely. The number picks are as follows: 4,29,35,71,102,116,133,194,200.
Actually, the "smart money" says it's very unlikely we'll get 2 good picks. If we get a 2nd, it'll be in the 7th round. The guy who is apparently an expert on this says we'll get a 3rd (although it might be a 4th) and possibly a 7th.
