Could you have ever seen yourself begging for Green to come in a game a few weeks ago?

It's funny - I'm finding it hard to get worked up over Willie bringing in Smith because I AM SO PISSED OFF THAT HE STARTED HUMBER IN THE MOST IMPORTANT GAME OF THE SEASON AFTER PITCHING HIM FOR THREE INNINGS IN THE LAST MONTH.

When a manager makes at least 50 moronic decisions as his team is dropping like a stone down the stretch, how can he keep his job?

Phillies win. 1 game lead, here we come?

 

unfortunately over the course of the last few weeks i've seen alot of things I never would've forseen from this team.

 

duque fitting right in the pen. its about that time where he serves up a 3 run meatball to church.

Beltran and Alou have both gotten multiple hits, Alou is white hot...If we strike, now would be a good time.

 

If Willie Randolph ran a school, the Department of Education would shut it down within 4 weeks.

 

So much for Beltran stepping up.

 

And Alou. Delgado's on though, which is great; an inning can only end if there are runners left on base.

He's batting significantly worse at home, too...Wonder what that's about.

 

so is pretty much everyone. wright and to a lesser extent reyes are the only regulars hitting significantly better at home. the mets have scored almost 100 more runs on the road then at home this year.

 

the mets lineup doesnt even want to hit because they know the pen will give it right back

Didn't know that. I remember Beltran not doing well at home, I guess it's just the Shea factor.

I would not be surprised to see Wagner in the 9th. I think Willie knows if he loses this game, he's in trouble, and the team is in trouble. He wants this one bad. Too bad it took him so long to realize the significance.
