Take a good look this year at DRob and Pouha because I'd bet my mortgage that neither will be a jet next year. They control the line of scrimmage about as well Terry Bradway used to draft. I hope the jets go on a DT hunt next spring/summer similar to the way the Pats went after WRs this past offseason. Only difference is that when someone sucks for the Pats (e.g. WR Caldwell) they cut him and move on. The jets are still trying to convince themselves Bryan Thomas was worth his #1 pick (see $25M extension last year) or that DRob is/was worth the king's ransom that Boobway foolishly anted up.

I think that Pouha holds his own, but the 2 of them don;t get a push into the backfield consistently....as for Thomas, he is definitely under-performing compared to last season....

DRob is in the last year of his contract I believe so he is almost definitely not going to resign to play in our scheme.

If I remember correctly D-Rob's got a pretty big cap figure, too, so that will provide a nice bounty with which to begin our search.

Funny, but I saw Robertson getting consistently double-teamed today...which I believe is the job of a 3-4 nose tackle.

Exactly. I think D-Rob would be a great 3-4 end, he's only doing what is asked of him. Its not his fault he's undersized and goes up against two or sometimes even three offensive linemen 30-40 pounds bigger then him.
Mangini needs to stop being so damn stubborn, make the most of what you have on the team. At least try D-Rob at DE for a few plays during the game.

TB drafted very well so hese 2 must be pretty good. Robertson is playing out of position, our 3 best front 7 players are all playing in the wrong system b/c the 3-4 has been forced upon them rather than maximizing the talent we have.

Probably need a top 12 to get Okam and reasonable shot at having that at this point.

You can bet the rent that the Jets will be using the draft and free agency to bring in defensive linemen that can actually play! D'Rob will be a distant memory come next training camp.

Last year at this time we were saying that about Pitcock and Branch.

Wow, this thread is so original. Let me guess, tomorrow you will talk about how weak Chad's arm is? Next week you will talk about Brick then? :rofl2:

D-Rob is doing what the team asks of him. Is he the best 3-4 nose...of course not. Is he Casey Hampton...no? But to say he should be gone because he sucks is wrong.

If you said he should be gone because he is ill-suited for the 3-4...fine. But, if he goes you better find someone that is a slam-dunk in that position...which isn't the easiest thing to find.
