You hit it on the head...Erik Coleman sucks and is two steps behind on every play. Did you see the replay when they showed it from behind Coleman? His adjustment to the play was horrible. Poor Revis has to rely on this guy.
I didn;t think he was as good today as in the last 2 games. he was there for tackles, but a lot of them came after his man had caught the ball. Chambers gave him some trouble, but for a player that has played 3 NFL games, I feel good about Revis. Once Dyson is back to 100% and Barrett is the nickel so that Coleman gets in less, our secondary should be good. Still, without pressure, the DBs will continue to have trouble....
I saw Revis take a step back yesterday in his tackling. Several time Dolphins broke out of his hold. The kid is playing exceptionally well considering it's only the 3rd game he has played in.He will get better as the season goes on but he's not playing like a HOF player quite yet but he certainly will be in the near future.
Nice comparison. I think he'll become a much better cover guy than Hasty eventually, but still nice comparison. I was watching him pretty closely at the game today, something you can't normally do at home, and he did some nice things. Our corners are still playing back more often than I like, so I'm not sure what the coaching staff is worried about, but so far Revis is definitely on the upward path...
Another no nothing with something to say. Go put on your Jet hard hat and make the rest of us look bad. Regardless to your garbage, it seems that most are agreeing with my observation that Revis wasn't as good yesterday as the first two games which means people are watching the games.
revis has been very impressive as a rookie- cant wait till he developes more- when dysons back to full health we'll have a nice couple of statring corners- its kinda sad since we have so many other problems on defense
thats the wrong limb to go out on... as far as your "observation" it doesnt take a rocket scientist to see that yesterday wasnt his best game as a jet. the point of my post was that this kid is playing well above where most of us thought he would thus far....especially with all the camp time he missed. it shows that he is a hard worker and a quick study, something we need desperately in our corners. by the way, did anybody else notice that DR has aaron glenns eyebrows? maybe thats the trademark of a solid jet corner...big bushy brows.:breakdance:
He was fine yesterday. Trent Green had an hour to throw the ball and thread the needle. That is exactly what he had to do because Revis covers like glue for the most part. If we get a pass rush Revis is going to have a boatload of interceptions............ mark my words. I find completely encouraging that the only CB on the team right now that can cover anyone is a rookie that missed 3/4 of training camp. If/when Dyson comes back the defensive backs will be the least of our worries. If the Jets get a pass rush somehow this defense can amount to something.
I think this Revis kid is the real deal....but lets not get too excited yet.... 1) If you watch the game, he clearly got beat quite a few times last week, IMO a big step down for his 1st two performances... ( against the fins no less) 2) Penalties, must eliminate the PI 3) no picks yet....he a damn good tackler, but I want to see him make a pick or two before I start proclaiming him a beauty of a pick... with this said, I do believe he is going to be good/great, and we can see from his play so far that he has been solid for the most part, but as of yesterdays game, there really wasnt anything to get excited about...Our defense just sucked yesterday, Revis contributed a bit to that
Revis had one "bad" game, just because he had one "bad" game in his 3rd game as a rookie doesn't mean he won't be great. I have more trust with him on a "bad" day than i do with Barrett on any single day. He's the real deal he won't just come in and be Champ Bailey.
Revis is a stud. See Leon Hall's lack of performance so far and KNOW we got the right guy. Revis was 1 second away from pick 6's in the first 2 games. I'll take a lackluster performance against a Chris Chambers every now and then in his rookie season.
