Man, what a blockbuster announcement. We gave up #15 for three picks, gave you guys the highest pick, got JAbe and still got two picks although #7 rnd kind of sux. I had said that I didn't mind giving up the #15 pick straight up for JAbe and we basically did that AND got a 3rd Rnd (and 7th) pick. I guess the main thing is that you guys didn't get the pick we had which does kind of suck, but you still got a better deal than what Seattle had on the table. Your FO is doing pretty good sticking to their guns, you guys should be proud. On the other hand, we got JAbe, who I'm sure will make our "D" be the terror of the NFC South! I can't wait til the season starts already and we haven't even had the draft yet! Here's to the J-E-T-S in using their picks wisely and kicking the Patriots' off of their pedastal real soon!
you have to look at the deal as a whole. Falcons gave up their 15th for Abraham, a 3rd round pick and a 2007 4th round pick. Thats a good deal.
its not a 7th rounder, its 2007 4th round pick. falcons gave 1st round pick falcons received Abraham 3rd round pick 2007 4th round pick
But they gave up one of their 1st, they don't have a 3rd round this year and next year they lose thier 4th rd. So, they gave up a lot
Nice job Tanny! I love that we have a ton of options. Trade up, trade down, stay put. They all can work out well. Personally, I lean towards trading down or staying put. We can come out of round two with at least 3 very good players! Yeah baby. I can't remember the last time I thought the Jets were smart.
That's cool. Seems EVERYONE is pretty happy about this! I had said the Falcons would get JAbe as Arthur Blank said get it done and make everyone happy!
If we got a 1st for Abe Mangini and Tanenbaum get a ton of credit in my book. It's very hard to get good value when you are trading a disgruntled player and they did. They were in a no win situation. Abe's bridges were burned and there was basically only 1 suitor for him this entire time. Yes Seattle but Abe wasn't signing with them so they are out of the equation. Kudos on this deal because it's certainly one Herm and Bradway could never pull off.
Trade up and get your QB...no need to trade down when we already have 4 first day picks and 3 of them in the top 35...
Last year we were bitching about Bradway dealing away our only first rounder, and not being able to do anything with Abe. This year Tannenbaum handles the Abe situation, and we end up with two firsts. Like day and night, huh?
yeah that's weird..bell is good imo...maybe take a rb in the 2nd round but 1st!?..uhhh no... Kiwi at 22 would be a good choice i think...yes..maybe safety would go good 2
LOL! yeah to move up 14 spots and still have 2 first-round picks! hey NYJalltheway...IM SO HAPPY!!!! :breakdance:
