Yes it was against the Ravens defense but how many times do we sit here and say, if you cannot run the ball the passing game becomes non-existant as well. Not saying that our passing game was horrible, but nowhere near great

Look at Cleveland. Perfect example.. Jamal lewis opens up the run game and it helps them open up the pass game. Granted Cincinnatti's defense is kinda poor, but going forward we need to establish this run game more and bait some safety's and CB's into playing the run, then going over the top

where were you in preseason? if that wasnt enough indication to you our line (especially run blocking) wasnt going to work then I dunno what is.

What sucks is that this team actually has a real running back, but his offensive line is swiss cheese.

if we had a real line Leon Washington would be good enough. Thomas Jones would be good too. but now hes just a fast Barlow running into his own line without looking for a hole cuz he doesnt expect it to be there.

    rightfully so.

The difference between Jones and Washington is that Jones would be fine with just a decent offensive line.

I still think our line will get better as the season goes. I mean lets be real. We know we are not one of the top teams and we started the season playing two of them. Lets see how we play against Miami and buffalo and see then

Behind a craptacular o-line like ours, Leon > TJ.

This is a wish not something that is likely to happen. Injuries alone should make the line worse than it is at some point. Having a line come together and be better than the collective parts is a nice myth but that's all it is.

If you want a good line get good linemen and back them up with the kind of players the Jets mostly have starting now. That's how you get good performance out of your line.

TJ is a good RB and so is Leon, the problem lies with the OLine, we cant open holes or block. Maybe losing Kendall is coming back to hurt us bad.

Yeah, how much $$$ was the cause of Kendall leaving again?

We can't open holes on a regular basis, therefore TJ will almost always run directly into a teammate's back. Leon at least has the ability to create on his own. We saw it repeatedly last year.

How dumb is it to spend big $$ on an RB and then do nothing to bolster your weak run blocking offensive line?

I really don't think losing Kendall is that big of a deal. The line wasn't all that great last year. I think Kendall has hurt in pass blocking some, but he wasn't the greatest run blocker anyway.

Our line couldn't block for the run last year, and they can't this year either. Losing Kendall hasn't helped, but it's definitely not the reason the line has underperformed.

Thomas Jones did an alright job yesterday with the line hes playing behind. none of you will be satisfied until he has like a 200 yard game in consecutive weeks which just isnt going to happen. Jamal Anderson was going against a horrendus Bengal D. You dont put up 52 points everyday, especially THE BROWNS. anyone saying Leon is better than TJones has got their eyes mixed up. Leon is not an everydown back and cant run between the tackle which Jones is the most effective at. Jones was stopped in the backfield only a few times. as the season goes on he'll get better sp chill the fuck out everyone..
