Some guys just don't develop as fast as scouts think they will. Brick was dominant in College and he had a great combine and Senior Bowl. The thinking was that this guy would make an easy transition to the pro game but so far this hasn't happened. It might take him another year and about 20 more pounds before we really start seeing him coming into his own. The only thing that bothers me is that he really hasn't shown any kind of nasty streak. When he screws up like he did on Sunday, he seems to get the deer in the headlight look and that AW SHUCKS!! expression that Eli Manning gets. He really needs to get pissed off and find some motivation.

Bashing D'Brick is okay now only because Chad is hurt. Once Chad is healthy I much prefer to bash him than D'Brick. Chad is a warrior and can take it D'Brick is a little soft to bash at this point.

Look at the cap space D-bust is taking up, Its been one season and one game so there is still some hope but based on his pay he needs to be restructured because he is manhandled on a regular basis. He gets no movement in his runblocking; at this point if he can just keep someone out of the backfield its a plus. I dont think there would be to much of a drop off if bender was in there. He allowed 10 sacks last yr. He got beat by jarvis green last wk who is a #2 de. He faces much stiffer competition going forward and he is on pace to give up 16 sacks so IMO he pretty much sucks.

  5. Brick will never live up to Jets fans expectations and here's why....

    1. Jet fans WANT him to be a bust

    2. O-linemen are only noticed when they make a mistake by the general fan. Brick had an outstanding first half against the Pats(excluding the final 25 seconds) and yet all anyone wants to talk about is the sack he gave up in the second half. Case and point.

    3. Marcus McNeil long term will be just as good if not better...and of course jets fan have the "Hand pick past drafts" syndrome.

He's just fighting an uphill battle. This franchise should simply never take a player in the first round again. The fan base has no patience for development and WANTS their picks to be busts!

^ Quoted for mother phuckin' truth

  9. Bump!

The offense struggled picking up blitzes today...but 99% of that was to the right side or an RB's responsibility.

Brick blocked alot of good pass rushers today including Terell Suggs. IMO he was by FAR our best linemen, including Mangold!

But he's still D' Bust, right?

Cant evaluate a line when there are 7 in the box for 78.9% of the snaps. Brick did a decent job today - although i will point out that we are 0 & 2 when Brick be startin' and havent lost when he don't be startin'
