there isnt anything left to say about the you know who. So lets all drop the garbage and get back to what is more important which is the next game. Seriously the verdict is in, time to get over it, time to move on, LET THE THREADS DIE!

And now for something completely different.

Still no sure word on Mcnair i believe. Ray Lewis will play but he wont be as effective. he'll be holding back cause of the arm no doubt. We gotta exploit the absence of Ogden for sure.

I wouldn't do that. I have a feeling Lewis is going to be perfectly fine on Sunday, and feeling as beasty as ever.

Having watched last weeks Ravens/Bengals game, I say let Clemens show his stuff. Let us see what he is really made of.

The defense has to pick it up. The Ravens offense is weak. That's what the Jets have to take advantage of. And Brad Smith should have a larger role this week.

I watched the first game against the Bengals. I don't know if there was something wrong with McGahee or if he just couldn't run on the Bengals because they didn't use him as much as I anticipated they would. Musa Smith was in there a lot it seemed.

Point being, I was more concerned with McGahee than the passing game, but now...I don't know.

like i said before as well.. they forced him to go outside whihc he cannot do well. He is most deadly when he can get a head of steam behind the guard or tackle and make a quick cut.. force him to the sideline, bring your corners up and you limit him to no big runs

How can we win? Real simple....

#1) Get after the quarterback! Be it Boller or McNair, both are prone to mistakes (Boller INTs, McNair fumbles)... Bring some pressure from the LB corps, and let our ballhawks in the secondary sit back there and have a field day if Boller is the QB.... If Kerry Rhodes can jump some Tom Brady passes like he did last week, when the guy has 20 seconds to throw, he can surely come away with a pick or two against a pressured Kyle Boller... Turnovers= victory....

#2) Run the ball early and often! We are going to have a QB making his first career start against a TOUGH defense... Ray Lewis is hurting, so we run the ball right up the gut with our bruiser (Sorry Leon, you wait until a little later in the game for your chances) and take it to this defense.... If we can get them to bring Ed Reed into the box, it will open it up for some KC to McCareins action over the top.... Yes, McCareins.... He'll have a favorable matchup, and he has a great rapport with Clemens.... Expect one or two deep shots to JMac if we can get the Ravens to stack the box...

#3) Protect Clemens!!! This is IMPERATIVE! I don't think I need to explain that NO QUARTERBACK CAN MAKE PLAYS FROM HIS BACK! Especially not one in his first career start.... If he's going to perform, he needs to build confidence early... That means keeping him upright, and giving him time to get a rhythm going.... D'Brickashaw, Adrien Clarke, it's on you guys!

We will be OK - IF - we

Hold McGahee to about 70 yards and cause at least 2 turnovers. Also ST needs to rebound, the Ravens Special Teams is VERY good.

I do have a good feeling about this game. I don't know why, but I feel like they're gonna surprise.

IMO - this is one of the worst teams Clemens could get as a first start - if that indeed happens.....

ed reed, mcalister, etc - these guys are ball hawks and will dare him to beat them - anywhere on the field.

we will likley see the same dink and dunk as we would with CP...EXCEPT that the jets will likely air it out at least a couple times to try and keep them on their toes - and if they can connect on a couple 35 -40 yarders so be it.

the no huddle should be more effective against the ravens 3-4 so that may help keep the wolves at bay....but suggs and lewis are going to be revving up their engines believe me.

what helps the jets is that the raven QB spot is in question and they do not have too much talent at WR - though TE Heap will burn us a few times i am sure. The jets should take a page out of the opposing teams playbook and stack the box against magahee and dare Boller to beat them. problem is the ravens have the edge at TE with Heap so i look for him to have a big day. hopefully not too big.

very tough game for the jets - again

Survival of the fittest: Injured Jets face limping Ravens

Survival of the fittest: Injured Jets face limping Ravens

BALTIMORE (AP) -Each team made the playoffs last year. Neither is certain if its starting quarterback can play Sunday. Both began the season with a loss.

The New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens have plenty in common. On a neutral field, under different circumstances, Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis might deem a matchup between the teams to be a tossup.

But Baltimore is at home and coming off an error-filled performance in Cincinnati. So, when asked if he considered the possibility of starting the season with two consecutive defeats, Lewis smiled knowingly.

"I don't know one person in our organization, as well as our city, that's talking about going 0-2," Lewis said. "The bottom line is the Jets pulled a bad draw. That's just the way it comes down. We're a very dominant team at home, and dropping that game the way we did, making a lot of mistakes - there's no way you're going to turn the ball over six times again."

Steve McNair was guilty of four of those turnovers, and there was some question whether the quarterback would be healthy enough to rebound against New York. McNair left Monday night's opener with a groin injury, and his availability for Sunday was expected to be game-time decision.

"Steve is OK, but you could see on some of the throws (against Cincinnati) that he wasn't getting the push. That's why some of the throws took off on him," Ravens coach Brian Billick said. "That's going to be the litmus test. He's a tough guy. If it's just pain, that's a no-brainer. But can he throw and push off it comfortably and be functional? That's the big issue."

McNair intends to play unless his presence on the field would be a detriment to the Ravens. If he can't go, Kyle Boller will start in his place.

The Jets are ready for either one.

"We have seen both of them and we know what they can do," Pro Bowl linebacker Jonathan Vilma said. "Steve can make all of the throws and Kyle can make all of the throws as well. Kyle is a little bit more athletic at this stage than Steve is."

Ah, but there's something to be said for experience, which explains why the Ravens are eager to have McNair as their starter and why New York hopes to have injured quarterback Chad Pennington instead of untested Kellen Clemens.

Pennington hurt his right ankle when he was sacked by Jarvis Green during the third quarter of the Jets' 38-14 loss to the New England Patriots. He expected to play Sunday, although coach Eric Mangini held off issuing Pennington a clean bill of health.

The Jets have reason to be concerned about the state of an offense that sputtered against the Patriots, but their first item of business Sunday will be to stop Ravens running back Willis McGahee. If McGahee enjoys the kind of success he's used to against New York, then it won't matter whether it's McNair or Boller handing him the ball.

During his time with the Buffalo Bills, McGahee ran for 705 yards and three touchdowns in six games against New York. This will be his second game with Baltimore after joining the Ravens in an offseason trade.

Can he get the same old results wearing a new uniform?

"He killed us a bunch of times," Vilma said. "Strong guy, fast guy. He's very explosive. It's all the those you things you want in a back and that you hate to see in a back. We have to get after him."

The Jets, in turn, hope to unleash Thomas Jones, who was held to 42 yards against New England - in part because New York was forced to abandon the running game after the Patriots began to pull away.

"He's a new back to the Jets, but we have a history with him. He was able to get 100 yards on us in Chicago a couple years ago," Ravens linebacker Bart Scott said. "He's a great runner. He can bounce outside and cut on a dime, but also he can step up between the tackles and he's a strong, hard runner."

When Jones gets past the line of scrimmage, he can expect to see Lewis waiting for him. Lewis strained his upper right arm on the Ravens' first defensive first play against the Bengals, but finished with 14 tackles anyway.

His arm still hurts, but he's not about to let that keep him from getting the Ravens to 1-1.

"It's like I told my mom: 'It's just one arm. I got a whole other body left,"' Lewis said. "Then I was like, 'Doc, can I hurt it anymore?' He was like, 'No.' I said, 'OK, it's done then. I'm playing.' As long as I've got my teammates, I'm good. We can get through anything."

I dont think you want to run directly at Ray Lewis but maybe have Barnes issue a couple of introductions.

Why wouldn't you? Ray Lewis has a hurt tricep... You saw him in the 2nd half against Cincy reaching out and attempting one-armed tackles, protecting himself.... Thomas Jones can bring it, hard, between the tackles.... Attack Lewis early and often.... You never wish injury upon an opposing player, but if you can go at Lewis and make him start thinking about that tricep, you could get him off of his game, which will open things up big time....

I say plenty of I-form early, bring a FB and Jones right at Lewis and test him early and often...
