That picture was discredited. It was pretty obvious from the beginning. Latest news is that the cameraman was on the Pats sideline, as I originally stated yesterday...but info was sketchy at that time.
I'm amazed at how widespread this story has become in the last 24 hours. I thought it had legs but this is ridiculous. Besides the obvious sports channels, it's been on every major news channel, including the WABC nightly news last night with Charles Gibson. I caught the story this morning on Fox and MSNBC. At lunchtime I was surfing and here it was on CNBC, the financial news channel! Here's Joe Kernan, of all people, lightheartedly talking about the Patriots cheating during the Jets game! Whan a story like this has this kind of legs, this is not something that's just a flash and going to disappear overnight. With every passing hour, it's obvious there's tremendous interest in this story and that will put a ton of pressure on the NFL to do something meaningful. In the end, Goodell will have no choice but to "hurt this team," as dog put it.
I think it gets so much media exposure because you have a professional football team who cheats Any type of cheating (Bonds, Lance Armstrong, Patriots,) the media love to crucify cheaters which is a good thing. I look at it as people get the feeling the wool was pulled over their eyes and they want redemption even if they werent involved
Well, the latest I heard was that this guy was on the Jets sidelines... I read that from different sources. But continue to diminish, minimize and trivialize the events in your mind if you wish.
It's a huge deal, because they're repeat Superbowl champs & some deemed them this decade's version of "America's Team." If you're setting records (Bonds) or winning championships & then discovered to be cheating, people take notice. If it was a terrible team, it wouldn't get half as much press.
Belicheat apologizes http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d802456c2&template=with-video&confirm=true
WOW! Belichick apologises, this is for real Further apologies for not providing a link, (NFL.COM) Belichicken has apologised to Goodell and everyone connected to the pats for unreported indiscrections. Wow, kick his ass! No mention of apologies to us Jets- further contempt!
its also on foxnews.com but i cannot post links yet Says he apologized to the team and mgmt for causing this commotion... not for cheating and spygate
Dan Reeves was just on Outside the Lines, and he offered up an idea for an interesting punishment.... Take away New England's ability to have a communication device in the QB's helmet for this season.... That way, the play relay to the QB will be slower, and even if the practice continues, they will be unable t relay defensive calls to the QB... Obviously it's far fetched and will never happen, but it was an interesting suggestion, nonetheless...
  ....against the Ravens, you don't need a good defense....just a bunch of guys to fall on the ball they cough up.
