In light of the fact that Clemens has looked good and has tweaked the imagination of Jet fans ,maybe this is a blessing that we get to look at him now so this doesnt hover over us all year long. 1) If he does great, then.......GREAT!,,,, 2) If he bombs ,then we can all concentrate on Chad when he comes back and withhold any QB controversy talk this year. Either way, for those who are curious,we get this out of our system .
I have high doubts about his playing as well. He's still got the smarts, but if he's not able to plant and throw his arm is only going to look worse. Glad to have a warrior like him who'll get up and give it a go after that, but if he's not able to play he should step aside and heal.
I have no doubt that he will be back for the Miami game. Lets just hope that we are 1-1 at that point.
I hope that they don't install a vanilla offense for Kellen. Lets loosen it up and go down field a couple of times.
I was thinking the same thing, what Herm did to Bolinger was disgraceful. I am not sure what Clemens will do on Sunday, but I already knew what Chad was going to do. We had no chance against that defense with Chad in there. I said it ok, I am bad Jet fan.
Yeah this was a given, it was obvious a bad sprain, it took pure adrenaline and one high ass pain tolerance to go back out and lead the team to a TD, signal stealing and all  I think this is a great test for KC, do I expect him to play well, hell no, not against the Ravens but I am looking for the small things. Like not turning the ball over, taking what they give him, making good reads, etc. The things a "good" QB does. Carson Palmer did this: 20/32 194 2 0 KC gets even gets remotely close to that, it will be a success.
I would be optimistic if we could actually run the ball, but seeing as they cant here comes 0 - 2 no matter who the QB is.
If they don't go down the field consistently we'll wind up with the same problem that we had with Bollinger in there, which is that there'll be 8 men in the box shutting down the line of scrimmage and the offense will do zippo. I have a lot more faith in Mangini and Shottenheimer than I had in Herm and Heimerdinger to get this right.
The D has to come up big all day and Clemens will have to make a couple of big plays when they present themselves. I don't see it much different if Chad was playing.
The only difference is that you have to feel more confident in Chad not making the costly turnover in a big spot. I'm still thinking Chad plays on Sunday though.
I do feel that way but I also think Clemens movement and quick release may be more able to exploit a defensive breakdown.
Not buying it until I don't see Chad on the field. If I could place a bet I'd say Chad is behind center Sunday.
The O-Line had better rally around Clemens. If I see Brick get bum rushed one more time, I'm gonna scream. I was really hoping that he'd develop this year. Now I'm afraid that the the Jets wasted yet another high draft pick on a complete bust.
It wouldn't shock me at all to see a lot of Brad Smith and Tiuooooooo whatever if the Ravens pass rush can't be contained.
