Is this what we have to look forward to. No protection for Chad. No pressure on QB's.
    Or
From what I heard it seems as if the pats tapped into the Jets headphones.

Well, that makes it 0-7 vs Brady in the Meadowlands, so just take it as you will. All we know is that we go to Baltimore next week

I don't think we're quite as bad as we looked today but this game really did expose every single weakness this team has. Unfortunately, I think that this was a pretty good indicator of how far the Jets have to go before they can compete with the elite teams of the league.

I don't think it was a preview, because that would say 4-12 as the likely result. We could not run, pass other than dinking, stop the run or stop the pass. Teams in that situation generally struggle to win even 5 games.

My best guess is that the Jets go 5-3 against the weaker part of their schedule and 2-6 against the stronger part and wind up at 7-9. Might be a game worse or a game better but they'll need to make up that game against the weaker teams cuz they are not hanging with the elite teams for even a half this year.

Pffft. We beat them last year in their house... I'm not going to hang this one game on the rest of the season.

    A little of both.

It won't always be this bad, but we clearly have some issues on this team that are going to be hard to get past.

Agree completely. I think the Pats are far and away the best team in the league. Things as it can happen in the course of a game got out of hand in their favor. I refuse to believe our pass rush is THAT bad, because it looked awful. If we can get pressure on McNair, then we have a much better chance next week.

One game, beginning of season. Realistically, this might be the best thing that could happen for the 2007 Jets squad. Now they're going to have to re-examine where they're headed.

The two touchdown drives showed that the Jets have enough talent to put points on the board. The fact is you beat the Jets by keeping the defense on the field, and by blitzing our oline like mad. That is exactly what the Patriots did. Teams with lesser talent may not be so successful doing that against us.

Still, I don't see us being better than an 8-8 team at this point, and that is being optimistic.

Even further still... I have to say, I don't remember the last time the Patriots looked this good. Brandon Tierney suggested this Patriots team may go 16-0... I find it very hard to disagree with him. When you really look at their roster top to bottom... it's an amazing team.

Still no excuse for our bad play today.

The defense makes me wanna puke. Nothing else to say. I don't care if it's tom brady, 38 points is unacceptable.

Then again we lost 41-0 to the jaguars last year and they were an 8-8 team.

I was really disappointed when I saw that we opened the season against the Patriots. Often, the first Regular season game almost resembles the 5th Pre-Season game as many of the key players don't take significant reps. in game situations. Not using this as an excuse but I think that the Jets will be much more ready to play the Patriots later on in the season.

i see it the opposite. the pats are going to be that much better the second time around. moss, stallworth and welker will have had more time to gell when we meet them again. i don't see the second meeting being any better than today's.......
