wow hes a team player plus hes been greta in the preason and when he catches balls they allways seem to go for 20+ yrds
Arrrg, you beat me to it. I have nothing but respect for the way J-mac has handled himself in both camp and the media over the past two years. A real team player, unlike a certain guard who recently moved on. :deadskins:
I have to agree. The guy is a classy guy. This contract renegotiation not withstanding he never pouted or complained last year that we know of. Anyway, I am sure they gave him guaranteed money or something to re do the contract.
I'm with you.... JMac came in here with a lot of promise, and didn't really live upto it... But instead of disappearing, or making a big deal out of himself, he bit the bullet, agreed to play special teams, and do anything he can to help the team win.... I want him on this team as long as he's got that team-first mentality.
We'll have used up spare cap space this year to give him a bonus up front, but it's good to know he'll be here.
We've got to extend Rhodes next year. And according to most posters, since we'll be cutting Pennington, we'll need extra space for that cap hit.
Well he wouldn't really be taking a pay cut. It seems that if he didn't take the cut he wouldn't even be here in 08 to have made that $3.1m. And would have another team paid him $3.m if he had been cut, maybe not a risk he would have liked to take. So possibly $3.1m next year, or a much more likly $1.1m. And with his new contract some of the money would be guarenteed. Yes, good thing to do. But it's not like he was guarenteed of being here in 08, this new contract goes a long way to making sure he is.
I disagree. This guy will not complain trust me. He has a diminished role and will not be expected to bring down the curtain in any game barring injury to any of the guy's in front of him. That not a bad living for a bit role! Personally I feel sorry for the guy. He came in with high hopes and through injuries (To other key personnel) and coordinator problems (Hackett) He has been unable to show what kind of player he is. People will say he only show up during practices and in preseason but think about it, that’s the only time he consistently get' game time Rep's.
This brings questions from both ends. What are we freeing up cap space for? And does J-slack not believe enough in himself to take a 2 mil pay cut for next year? Hopefully the reason rhymes with Maneca.
Take a pay cut for some crap you spray to make your breath smell better, I don't understand......................
Well, I'm kind of confused here. The first part of my post was a joke more aimed at Kendall. My comments about J-Mac are in line with what yours as well. Waht exactly are you disagreeing with??
i've been back on the J-Mac bandwagon but i know its only a matter of time before we all find a reason to hate him again...
