This is what sorta bothers me...This is the 2nd pre-season game & I can't think of any Jets' player that stands out & impresses me. I don't see any player shine. Thats a problem for me, cause where is the new blood on a team full of mediocre players. Actually....The only players that stand out are Kellen Clemens & Thomas Jones. They need many more players to stand out. This is what happens when u have so few draft picks. P.S. : A few more standouts....TE Ryan, FB Barnes....hits like a truck. LB Spencer flashes, The Kicker, S/T Ventrone
How does Thomas Jones impress you if he ran for 27 yards on 8 carries last week? Brad Smith ran that in 3 carries...
So totally throw out all the players who "Stood Out" last year and base it on 2 pre-season game? Or is it that our trying to make a case for too few draft picks? If the latter, it's weak. How many players are gonna Shine in pre-season? Go back, re-watch last season and see players who shine that are still here...
What bothers me is that this offense is still that damn predictible. Whether its the preseason or regular season, every defense might as well just put eight men in the box because the offensive play is either going to be a run for a few yards or a four yard slant. Chad in shotgun looked horrific. All his throws were lolipops that the defense were waiting to receive. It's pretty obvious to any JET FAN that watches any JETS game, Chad will not be throwing any pass over 15 yards when the JETS are in shotgun. It's funny that the JETS finally got Revis signed, but with how bad the first team played against the run the first two weeks of the preason, why throw the ball when you can run silly against the JETS disgusting run defense. The Falcons and Vikings were two of the best teams last season of running the ball, and if the JETS wanted to prove to themselves that they were doing a better job of stopping the run they probably would have done so already but that still remains to be seen. I know its preseason but you better believe every player knows that Sunday's practice is going to be hell from Mangini.
I guess u know what u mean....Cause I sure don't. U sound stupid. But I guess ur just a bit frustrated ???
True....J-Mac also looks sharp. Rhodes looks like he spending too much time on other things besides football.
Cause you can't understand what I wrote I sound stupid? riiiight.. Nice job. Oh, and I'm frustrated? I guess that's why I started a thread "what sorta bothers me" .. lmao Yeah, I sound stupid.
i thought ellis, leon and j-mac did well tonight. as far as this years draft class is definetely stuckey.
Don't you realize that we are running a vanilla offense, it would be extremely stupid to run our full offense in pre-season games giving teams a look at will happen when it's go time. Honestly it is so funny how people look into preseason so much, you have to read between the lines in these games, the product shown on the field during these games will drastically change come Week 1.
After posting this...i realized that there are a few more brite lites on Jets' Harris will be a solid LB. Jets' just need a real NT & should try to trade for one.
i agree jetman, don't want to give the pats a good look at our offense with jones in it, kinda glad he's sidelined.
Imagine if Chad checked Cotchery to an in and up route instead of a quick slant against that defense.
I love how Clemens throws the ball, his release is quick, and there is some serious steam on the ball. JMac looks like he wants to prove a point this year, and break back into the line up. He looks really good, he actually looks better than any year he's been here. I am kind of excited that Sean Ryan and Clemens are becoming very familiar with one another, it seems that whenever Clemens has no one, he finds Ryan somewhere (and he actually catches it). Leon looked good, although the line looked like shittt (Yes, with 3 t's. They were that bad). D'Brick was getting schooled almost all night by a part time player, he really does like very thin. What's going to happen when he goes against a premier DE? BTW- I think if that was a regular season game, Chad doesn't make either one of those throws (his picks). Especially the second one, no way Chad throws the ball with a guy wrapped around his feet, he is smarter than that. On a side note, Adrian Peterson is going to be the next big time back in this league (unless he gets injured). He is one of the most dominant runners I have seen in awhile, and technically he is very sound. It's a shame he's not in green and white!
His #s were irrelevant, he ran the ball well. his YPC went down a bit b/c he had a few short yardage sitautions he converted. Jones looked good last week, leon has looked good, McCareins looked great last night. those are the 3 that have really stood out on offense.
Yeah because that NT who will be the answer to all of our questions will just step right in and start right off the bat.
